I see we have an adolescent troll hijacking the thread.

There are those among us who will continue to try to convince the people, especially those who are participants in tea parties across the country, that they cant do anything to take back their country, that they are helpless. This is a lie and history proves it. Let us look at the history prohibition and the 18th Amendment and how it was repealed.

Please check HERE for how the 21st Amendment [ending prohibition] came to be. It was submitted to Congress by Sen. Blain of Wisconsin and then sent to the states by Congress for ratification with the stipulation that conventions in the states would have to approve the amendment as opposed to the various state legislatures, Congress having the choice of the method of ratification as per Article V!

In any event, Glenn Beck and Judge Napolitano ought to be encouraging every tea party member to start a campaign demanding their state’s delegation to Congress to introduce a resolution to send an amendment to the states for ratification that provides:

The Sixteenth Amendment is hereby repealed and Congress is henceforth forbidden to lay ``any`` tax or burden calculated from profits, gains, interest, salaries, wages, tips, inheritances or any other lawfully realized money

This would end taxes calculated from all “incomesâ€

And then what? You have no clue "what". So I'll tell you "what".

"What" you are proposing is repealing the 16th Amendment without legislation in place to fund the federal government.

"What" you are proposing with "miscellaneous excise taxes on various articles of consumption" is prejudicial and discriminatory as all present and past excise taxes have been and will always be and unless all consumption is taxed, there won't be enough revenue to fund the federal government, and unless it is all taxed at the same rate the same way, it won't be fair to any of the businesses or any of the consumers.

"What" you are proposing with regards to proportional direct taxation on the states, subjects the citizens of those states to the existing tax mechanisms allowed by all the states such as mandatory direct property taxes and income taxes and any new mandatory direct taxes their evil minds can conjure and certainly will conjure under your scheme, which just makes the residents of those states tax slaves to the states who are now by federal order tax slaves to the federal government.

So far, based on the comments by the members of this forum no one is interested in a Constitutional Convention. So I think that's a wrap on this one.

You decide when, if and what amount you pay federal taxes. And that is taking your country back, because now you control the purse strings of the federal government for the first time in the history of our country. You've heard the ole saying, "he with the gold, rules." Well, under the FairTax, you have the gold, which means, you rule.
