GOP Gains Steam In Generic Congressional Ballot – Holds Lead Over Dems Among Independents

The GOP’s midterm chances remain strong.
A new poll from Rasmussen found them leading by 5% over the Democrats.

Poll results:
46% say they would vote for the GOP
41% say they would vote for the Democratic Party
4% would vote for a different candidate
8% aren’t sure yet who they’ll vote for

Rasmussen reported:


The 2022 midterm elections are now 81 days away, and Republicans have a five-point lead in their bid to recapture control of Congress.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the elections for Congress were held today, 46% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican candidate, while 41% would vote for the Democrat. Just four percent (4%) would vote for some other candidate, but another eight percent (8%) are not sure.

Republicans also hold a big lead among independents.
41% of independents say they will vote for a Republican candidate at the midterms while only 30% would vote Democrat. 20% of independents remain undecided.
