Check out this item in the stimulus bill:

"$1.1 billion to create a Comparative Effectiveness Council, so that the Federal government can decide on whether medical treatments are worth the money..."

For those over 65, the GOVERNMENT will decide who gets or does not get treatment. This will include many UNDER 65. And how about babies who are born with defects which require treatment/surgeries, but will never become a PRODUCTIVE citizen???? Welcome to universal health care.

Suicides will sky-rocket! Euthanasia will probably become LEGAL!!!!

Of course members of Congress won't have to worry, they will be able to afford to buy their treatments! I don't know of any who qualify as "poor."

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.

I just read the article above on Drudge....then I saw your post....so I thought I'd add the article here since it totally pertains to what you're saying.

People are bombarding AARP because they have come out in support of the bill. On their blog, the people's angry was very apparent and they want AARP to do something! I believe we haven't heard the end of this and this is going to be a black eye on the adminstration....letting old people die is not a popular position.

Why has no one addressed the continual rise in healthcare costs in the first place? Yes the pill-producers are privately owned companies, but Medicare and Medicaid are government programs.
Once a month my elderly mom gets a shot that (were she not insured) would cost her $1,000. Medicare dismisses about three-quarters of that price and pays. Luckily her supplemental insurance pays the rest.
Were I to need that, not being insured, the price of the shot would probably be up to $1,500. Why is it someone uninsured gets charged more than those insured? Perhaps because insurance knows the game and denies that price/profit inflation. While I understand the game, there is nothing I can do about it, though I have tried.
I suppose one of my faults is that I do speak English, don't pop a baby every year, don't get food stamps or welfare.

You know the crappy part of this, Obama is willing to use a cigarette tax to pay for children's health care, and pay for immigrants to give birth.

Excuse me, these old people, deserve it first. Doesn't Obama get the idea that these people have been the cash cows for the last 40 years?
