The 10 States About To Get Murdered By The Coming Chinese Import Slowdown
Gus Lubin | Feb. 2, 2010, 11:01 AM | 155,165
The biggest stimulus to U.S. jobs in the past ten years wasn't Barack Obama; it was China.
Exports to China grew by 341% from 2000 to 2008 and they're on pace to keep growing.
Unless the China bubble pops.
More and more, analysts are calling for a big import slowdown, the result of massive overcapacity.
The ripple effects in the US will be significant. And Obama's ambitious goal to double exports in the next ten years will be destroyed.
We've picked ten states that are most vulnerable to a Chinese slowdown, based on data from the US-China Business Council. In each state, we named a major employer in the export industry that will hand out pink slips if China bites the big one.
So is your state One of the 10 about to get murdered by the China slowdown

I feel so awful for all these people who may lose their jobs. On the other hand, more unemployed Americans will add to the pressure to enforce our immigration laws and see to it that no one can keep a job without verification that they are here legally. The more loss Americans feel, the more likely they will be to pressure their politicians to get illegals out. By the time anything improves, I'm hoping that the conservatives will be back in power and will close the border and continue the enforcement of our laws.

Since our trade deficit is so large, all we need to do is buy our own stuff instead. China needs us more than we need them, for now anyway. We are the world's top consumers, for now, and we hardly make anything anymore. I would be happy if we stopped trading with China, from currency manipulation, human rights violations, poisoned food, drugs and products and lack of environmental controls, we have sold our souls to the devil.

This article is a scare tactic by the Free Trade Traitors. The US has a $265 billion a year trade DEFICIT with China. Aside from some Chinese vegetables and a few unique items made in China, there is nothing that we buy from them that we can't produce ourselves. So we're huge losers in our trade relationship with China, and anyone claiming otherwise is trying to pull a fast one.
Our economy will rebound with a vengeance if we balanced our trade deficits with Canada, Mexico, China, Ireland and Germany from whom we import far more than to whom we export. These deficits range from Ireland at $23 billion to Germany at $45 billion to Mexico at $65 billion to Canada at $78 billion to China at ... $265 billion.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan
