    I spent almost 10 years in Germany with Old Iron sides 1st Armored Division

    Nuremburg, Furth / Giessen / Waldflicken / Hohenfels / Graffenwohr

    I know Germany and the beer pretty well, but its been a while

    matter of fact going back soon, grabbing a Euro-rail pass and see as much of the EU as I can from Germany to Italy in 2 weeks

    One of the best OktoberFests in the country is at the Amana Colonies in Amana, Iowa.

    If you are ever within a hundred miles of Amana, you owe it to yourself to go there if you love good German food, beer, and wine. And not just in October, but all the rest of the year as well. Amazing German history painstakingly preserved in buildings, crafts, tools, etc.

    The farmland around Amana is some of the richest ground in the world.
