No, I think we need more full adults in the military. I don't think our cradle-robbing has been working out too well for the young ones. Maybe the solution is to ease them in through the National Guard Reserves, keep 18 for the Reserves, but make direct military, 21.

We're going to have to agree to disagree because I don't consider an 18 year old a baby. FYI: The National Guard and military Reserves do deploy and serve in combat.

Yes, I know the National Guard deploys to combat, but those under 21 would not, under my plan. They learn and do other things, then when they're 21, they can be deployed. Obviously, if we're attacked on our soil, we will all fight to defend our country whatever age we are, no matter what we weigh, no matter what we drink or smoke. But deployment offshore ... needs to be 21.
