Thread: How I Stole Someone's Identity

Recently I was saved by Amex, who knew my shopping and charging patterns and sent an urgent email asking if I had used a phone sex site to run up an $866 bill. A WHAT? (my reaction.)
I am glad they caught it but then I start to wonder what else is going on with my identity. And trust me, I am sniffing the computer feeds a lot these days to make sure that every purchase on my credit/debit cards is recorded properly.
I am depressed enough to offer that any American's identity is no longer as sacred as it used to be. And I am depressed enough to start distrusting any technology. Electric power is vulnerable, and don't try and use any credit or debit card during a solar flare, as they won't work. With power outages, not only are the household appliances out of service, but you can't pump gas or buy anything as cash registers won't work. And my electrically-controlled garage door decides not to respond so I can't get the car out to buy non-pumpable gas, and you can't get the "cash out of the wall" to use for anything. It is getting very, very scary.
