I was retired for a few years and forced to go back into the workforce at the worst possible time. I was down to the last $75.00 I had when finally, I regained employment.

One of my friends finally landed a job after looking for months. She was so relieved.

Another of my friends just got a job 3 weeks ago in the entry level of the electronics business.

None of these positions were advertised anywhere. Two of us just went door to door with resumes in hand.

The other went through an agency. The want adds online and in the paper did not help any of us.

I guess my point is, the first available jobs will never make it to the general public through advertising. These first come openings will go to the early birds who are scratching their doors. By the time an advertised job opening hits the papers, 100 people will be filling out applications at the same time.

One person getting a job may be a fluke. Two people becoming employed may be a coincidence, but 3 of us friends all finding work in different fields within the same month is a pattern.

Please share your area success in the job hunting market. East TN is usually the last place in the world to recover from unemployment.
