Thread: L.A. high school football player fatally wounded

Oops, butterbean. What I meant was the young man, the friend was okay after witnessing this.

What is telling is that the family and friends won't give their names. Big question there. The other person interviewed needs to get his kids OUTTA THERE.

It's a garbage can down there. It use to be an OK area.

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles police were searching Sunday for two people involved in the shooting death of a person in an alley behind a North Hollywood restaurant, police said.

The shooting happened at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday behind a Taco Bell at Roscoe and Laurel Canyon boulevards, an officer at the North Hollywood station said.

The victim was identified as Edward Satterstron, a 16-year-old student and football player at John Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, police said.

Satterstron was walking with a friend near Laurel Canyon and Roscoe boulevards in North Hollywood when he was confronted at about 9 p.m. by a man with a gun, police said.

Witnesses told detectives the man shot the boy several times in the chest. The teen staggered to a nearby Taco Bell, where he collapsed.

Police are looking for male and a female who fled on foot in connection with the killing.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known

cayla, i saw that little bit on kcbs and thought it wasnt enough to even post, i cant believe a TV station in LA would have so little on its website about a gang killing.

I'm beginning to think hispanic gang bangers are a protected class here in LA!

The L.A. Daily News was the ONLY news source that described the killer as a "LATINO" juvenile! This was headline news on local tv, but all reports said there were no details about the killer! NOT ONE WORD THAT HE WAS LATINO!

This was the SECOND gang killing in 24 hrs....an off-duty sheriff's deputy was also gunned down yesterday! I don't care what anyone says...anytime there is a killing by a "Latino"...it's gang-related! The gangs in LA are completely unstructured...there is no 'Godfather' figure...and only around 100 official members of the 'Mexican mafia'; but MOST of the Latino teenagers consider themselves 'gang members'...whether it's tagging, robbing, or killing! It's a sport to them! You're 'nobody' unless you belong to a 'gang'! It's the 'machissmo' thing!

Well of course not! Such details would violate several politically correct standards to which the local SoCal newspeople zealously cling! To report that the perpetrator was Hispanic would unfairly stereotype people of color and disrupt our sense of community!

You want accurate information? Why just ask the L.A. mayor and police chief. They'll give you the plain facts: Crime is down to 1950's levels and race is rarely a cause in violence perpetrated against blacks by Latino gang members.
