Report: Gov. J.B. Pritzker under federal criminal investigation

Gov. J.B. Pritzker, his wife First Lady M.K. Pritzker, and others are under federal criminal investigation for a dubious residential property tax appeal that critics highlighted in last year’s gubernatorial race.

WBEZ first reported the federal probe, citing information from a law-enforcement source familiar with the investigation.
Pritzker’s attorney denied any wrongdoing.
“Neither the Governor nor the First Lady have been contacted by law enforcement regarding the property tax appeal,” Attorney Marc Elias said in an email to Illinois News Network. “We are confident that any further review of the matter will show that the appropriate rules were followed.”
Pritzker, whose net worth is estimated at $3.2 billion, paid back the more than $330,000 he got in tax breaks for removing the toilets to have a mansion he bought deemed uninhabitable. He paid back the money in October, days after a leaked report from a Cook County watchdog surfaced. A Cook County inspector general report about the 2015 tax break called it a “scheme to defraud” taxpayers.
Political opponents pounced on news of the federal probe.
"Gov. Pritzker should immediately abandon his push for this massive jobs tax on middle-class families because he can't expect people to pay more when he is reportedly under criminal investigation for gaming the system to pay less,” Ideas Illinois Chairman Greg Baise said.
Ideas Illinois has been opposing the governor’s proposed progressive income tax.
"The governor likes to call his push for more taxes ‘fair’ but it's clear he knows nothing about fairness or equity – he needs to drop his push for this Jobs Tax that will only hurt middle-class families even further," Baise said.
Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider compared Pritzker's decision to pay the $331,000 to a bank robber returning stolen money after getting caught.
“Just because he gave the money back means nothing to me,” Schneider said in an interview. “He schemed to defraud the taxpayers of the county. He technically took money out of the school system, to pay for our cops, to further burden other taxpayers because he didn’t pay his fair share.”

Schneider also said he was glad the investigation was conducted by federal officials.“I’ve seen silence on the part of the Cook County State’s Attorney,” Schneider said of State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. “I think she botched the Jussie Smollett case and we don’t even know if she’s investigating this on the Cook County level and I’m grateful that the feds have picked up the baton on this case.”Pritzker could be asked to comment on the story when he is in front of reporters later this morning.WBEZ reported that it wasn't clear if any criminal charges were imminent; it also reported that "the scope and intensity of the federal investigation is not entirely clear."

Reports last week confirmed that former special counsel Jack Smith “secretly arranged” to preserve evidence in his criminal cases against President Trump in order to maintain the threat of future prosecution once the president leaves office. This is not a big surprise.
Democrats have thrown every civic norm out the window in their ruthless efforts to target Trump’s businesses and send him to prison for life.
In his quest to imprison an American president, Jack Smith accused Trump of engaging in a conspiracy to “overthrow” the 2020 election, as well as retaining possession of classified documents after leaving the White House. Both allegations are ridiculous, and Smith’s own words make him sound like a lawfare hitman and anti-MAGA zealot. He told members of Congress in January, “Our investigation revealed that Donald Trump is the person who caused Jan. 6, it was foreseeable to him, and that he sought to exploit the violence.”
Smith stated emphatically that Trump committed “serious crimes.”
Serious crimes? You mean like using the FBI to spy on all the Republican presidential primary candidates in 2015 and 2016? Oh right, that was President Obama. Or fabricating intelligence in order to justify a counterintelligence operation against candidate Trump? Oh, that was Obama’s corrupt CIA director, John Brennan. Or paying British Intelligence operatives to manufacture a fake “Russia collusion” dossier implicating Trump? Oh, that was Hillary Clinton. Or using the FBI and CIA to frame President Trump as a Russian spy? Oh, that was Obama and Clinton, too. Or sabotaging President Trump’s administration by using a Democrat spy on the National Intelligence Council to construct a false story about an innocuous phone call in order to trigger a bogus impeachment? Oh, that was Intelligence Community Democrats attempting to hide Joe Biden’s corruption in Ukraine by, again, framing President Trump for a quid-pro-quo “crime” he never committed. Or submitting fraudulent documents to the FISA Court in order to maintain spying operations against President Trump? Oh, that was corrupt James Comey, corrupt Robert Mueller, corrupt Andrew Weissmann, corrupt Norm Eisen, corrupt Mary McCord, and their Democrat accomplices in the FBI and DOJ who covered up Obama’s illegal spying operations while framing President Trump as a criminal, spy, and traitor.
Listening to Jack Smith call President Trump a “serious” criminal sounds ridiculous when serious criminals Obama, Clinton, Brennan, Comey, and legions of their Democrat colleagues, subordinates, and co-conspirators in the DOJ, FBI, CIA, D.C. courts, and FISA Court (see Judge James Boasberg’s impeachable offenses) have never been properly investigated or punished for undermining President Trump’s election, sabotaging his administration, and framing him for treason. The most powerful Democrats in the country organized a coup d’état in broad daylight and dragged the country through a barbed-wire field of partisan propaganda for the last ten years, and Jack Smith wants Americans to be upset that President Trump retained documents that he was entitled to possess? It’s just such lunacy. The constant gaslighting from D.C. operatives is equally infuriating and exhausting.
Glossing over the Democrats’ monstrous Russia Collusion Hoax, their relentless efforts to subvert the Trump-led government, and their continuing obsession with tossing the president in prison for imaginary crimes is bad enough, but Jack Smith does what all Democrats do: He pretends that the January 6, 2021, protest for election integrity was an attempt by Trump and his supporters to overthrow the government. This lie is so brazen that it’s astonishing how Democrats can keep telling it with straight faces.
The people who showed up at the Capitol that day had one objective: to express their strong belief that mail-in-ballot fraud, violations of multiple states’ electoral statutes, and numerous voting discrepancies had tainted the 2020 election. Several senators intended to make these very arguments before the certification of the election’s results. The people who gathered outside the Capitol were exercising their First Amendment right to assemble peaceably. They were unarmed. Most had no criminal records. A large number had served their country in various capacities. Most who entered the Capitol walked around as tourists, took pictures, interacted in a friendly manner with Capitol Police, and posed no threat to anyone.
Only after law enforcement officers chose to fire flash-bang grenades on the assembled crowd did a section of the protest turn into something that could be described as a riot. Trump supporters — not police officers — died on January 6. Ordinary Americans exercising their constitutional rights were thrown into a state of fear of being hurt or killed.
Nevertheless, Smith continues to propagate the lie that the three-hour event at the Capitol was somehow the greatest threat to the country since 9/11, Pearl Harbor, and the Civil War (real comparisons that Democrat propagandists continue to make). Smith and his fellow Democrats desperately wish for Americans to believe that a hot-chocolate-drinking gathering of grandparents, revelers, and veterans was somehow going to topple the government of the United States. If a crowd of retirees is capable of overrunning Washington, what’s the point of a trillion-dollar military budget?
Smith’s perpetuation of the Democrats’ J6 propaganda is bad enough, but the fact that he treats that day as equivalent to the Civil War is all the more preposterous given that Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their fellow Democrats openly encouraged Black Lives Matter domestic terrorists to burn down neighborhoods, loot businesses, and murder civilians throughout the summer of 2020. If President Trump “caused Jan. 6” and the events of that day were “foreseeable” to him, then the violence and mayhem of 2020’s so-called “summer of love” were certainly foreseeable to Democrats. The BLM riots of 2020 were the most costly in American history, and Vice President Harris encouraged Democrats to donate money to a bail fund that put arsonists, rapists, and murderers back on the street.
Were the Democrat-organized riots of 2020 “foreseeable”?
Of course.
Did prominent Democrats “exploit the violence,” as Smith accuses Trump of doing with January 6?
They absolutely did.
Biden and Harris ran for the White House on the message that the violence would end once they were elected.
Will preening, self-righteous Jack Smith investigate, harass, arrest, or prosecute any of these Democrats? Of course not. Will Democrat rioters be tossed into pre-trial solitary confinement and refused bail by partisan prosecutors and judges? Definitely not. To this day, Democrats celebrate BLM and Antifa domestic terrorists as champions for civil rights. When Democrats burn cities to the ground, the arsonists get statues. When MAGA Americans protest for free and fair voting, they are condemned for crimes they never committed.
Unfortunately, this is how leftists all over the world now operate.
Brazil’s communist President Lula has imprisoned his predecessor, President Bolsonaro, for supposedly trying to overthrow the government. French President Macron has permitted his political opposition, Marine Le Pen, to be prosecuted and convicted for similarly bogus “embezzlement” crimes. Germany has flirted with designating the popular anti-immigration party, Alternative for Germany, a “terrorist” organization and banning its candidates from running for office. When the “wrong” candidate won Romania’s presidential election eighteen months ago, the country’s Constitutional Court annulled the outcome by blaming “Russian interference.”
If President Trump hadn’t possessed the financial resources and sheer grit to face down the onslaught of malicious and meritless prosecutions against him, he would likely be in a courtroom or a prison today. If he hadn’t been re-elected a third time, January 6 defendants would still be awaiting trial or serving time in prison for an imaginary “insurrection.”
Screw Jack Smith. He’s no lawman, and he has no principles. He’s nothing but a corrupt propagandist, partisan hack, and lawfare assassin.
Nothing will change until prominent Democrats are prosecuted and convicted for their crimes. Until then, it’s open season on all of us.

San Francisco - thanks to its balmy year-round climate and hospitable reputation - has long suffered from growing homelessness which, despite the city's nosebleed-inducing taxes, it has been unable to curtail. This led to articles such our recent piece documenting the city's 132,562 cases of human feces on city streets. As we noted then, San Francisco hosts an estimated homeless population of 7,500 people. As a result, affluent sections of the city have become borderline dangerous with open-air drug use, tens of thousands of discarded needles, and, sadly, overflowing human excrement.



And the city's residents, like many liberals, seem to want to help only to a degree. For instance, angry residents have been recently packing public meetings to rally against Mayor London Breed's new proposal for a homeless shelter on San Francisco's waterfront, according to Bloomberg. The proposed center in the Embarcadero is a part of the mayor's campaign to open 1,000 new shelter beds by the end of 2020. It'll be put to a vote of commissioners on Tuesday.
The homes that surround the proposed shelter are pricey. A 3 bed, 3 bath condo sold nearby recently for about $2.5 million in February. The monthly HOA dues are $1,200.
After the plan was announced, opponents of it started a GoFundMe account to combat it, called "Safe Embarcadero for All." A nasty battle ensued on social media between proponents and opponents on the project. The GoFundMe against it has raised $100,000 while the campaign for the shelter is at $175,000. The campaign for the project includes $25,000 from Twitter's Jack Dorsey and $10,000 each from Salesforce founder Marc Benioff and Twilio chief executive Jeff Lawson.
This uproar marks the most recent example of the virtue-signaling struggle of the city, which is overwhelmed with tech wealth and is oh so very passionate about social justice. Or maybe it is all for show, as San Franciscans tend to be so very vocal when it comes to welcoming homeless people and migrants to American cities... just not their city.
Public meetings have reached a fever pitch, too. City Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer, while in tears arguing a recent housing density development bill, invited her critics to visit poor seniors in her district who eat cat food for dinner. Supervisor Vallie Brown vigorously defended the legislation, despite opponents of the bill physically turning their back on her during the meeting.


San Francisco's housing shortage isn't helping either. It's led to the Board of Supervisors being roasted on social media this month "for rejecting a 63-unit housing project because it would cast shadows over a nearby park in an area with little green space."
Supervisor Aaron Peskin said: "We're definitely at the boiling point, whether it's the housing crisis, whether it's quality of life, which is exacerbated by the worst traffic congestion in America, or the affordability crisis."
And the IPOs of companies like Lyft have helped inject more wealth into the city - while convincing buyers to turn to San Francisco. This set off hearings on how all that new wealth will affect gentrification and city revenue. One realtor, John Townsend, said he had an article about the IPOs on hand while showing million dollar homes in the area. He claims there was "double the traffic" the weekend after the Lyft IPO took place. One condo he was showing for $1.15 million sold above its asking price.

Townsend said: "You're going to have a period of incredible demand not just from tech, by any means, but by (interest) rates being lowered in the last week. The real problem is we can't even remotely meet demand."
Realtor Monica Sagullo said that the city's market for homes under $2 million is "going nuts". She commented: "The IPOs are in the back of people's minds, and the people who have to buy are the ones who are going for it — the families that need houses, the double-incomes."


A family of four that makes $117,400 a year is considered low-income in San Francisco. In the city, the median sale price of a two-bedroom house is $1.3 million. At the same time, thousands are homeless around the city, sleeping in alleys and doorways and in Golden Gate Park.
Supervisor Matt Haney concluded: "It's very hard for people who are not on the very high end of things, in terms of wealth, to feel like they can even make it in San Francisco, or own or commit over the long term to be here, and that creates a lot of anxiety."
Wallace Lee, a stay-at-home dad who is leading the opposition said: "Other people in the city casting us as wealthy people who don't like to see the homeless population, it's not true at all."
"We have homeless people. I see them every day, and they're nice people, but this is going to attract more. I used to love the city and be proud of the city. Now I'm not anymore. It's dirty, and it's ugly," said resident Stacey Reynolds-Peterson.

Liberal cities across America are collapsing into Third World status. It’s not just the fact that San Francisco’s streets are now littered with drug needles and human feces, either. Seattle is also collapsing into rampant homelessness and drug addiction, creating an entire class of impoverished, homeless residents who are breeding grounds for HIV and other infectious diseases.

Yet Seattle’s liberal city leaders — like all “progressives” — are unwilling to take any action to resolve the problems in the first place. Instead, they enact new policies that make the problems worse while calling it “progress.”

Local reporter Eric Johnson recently released a documentary called Seattle is Dying which dared to document the city’s collapse into Third World status. (See video below.) But instead of working to resolve the root of the problem (i.e. brain dead liberal economic policies that always lead to destitution and collapse), the city’s elite have launched a P.R. campaign to brainwash local citizens with engineered happy messages that are dutifully broadcast by local news networks.

As Seattle’s City Journal reports:

Earlier this month, leaked documents revealed that a group of prominent nonprofits—the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Campion Advocacy Fund, the Raikes Foundation, and the Ballmer Group—hired a <acronym title="Google Page Ranking"><acronym title="Google Page Ranking">PR</acronym></acronym> firm, Pyramid Communications, to conduct polling, create messaging, and disseminate the resulting content through a network of silent partners in academia, the press, government, and the nonprofit sector. The campaign, #SeattleForAll, is a case study in what writer James Lindsay calls “idea laundering”—creating misinformation and legitimizing it as objective truth through repetition in sympathetic media.

This propaganda campaign, of course, is exactly what the vaccine industry does on a daily basis all across America. Monsanto and the GMO industry has been pursuing the same dishonest tactics for years. First, they fabricate industry lies and pay off doctors and health experts to sign their names to industry-funded junk science. Then they issue propaganda directives to the corporate-run media which dutifully broadcasts all their propaganda. From there, the tech giants shadowban and de-platform anyone who opposes the “official narrative.”

So now, Seattle’s wealthy elite are trying to brainwash the population into rejecting the evidence right in front of their own eyes. Seattle is rapidly turning into a s##thole liberal city, because liberals destroy everything they control.

Sooner or later, they are going to start confiscating pensions and private property to fund their insane spending sprees in a desperate effort to keep buying votes from the very same people they have trapped in a cycle of poverty and hopelessness.There will come a day when you can no longer sell your home in Chicago, for example, because the government’s confiscatory taxes on all real estate sales will make it nearly pointless to engage in real estate transactions at all.It’s all going to hit the fan in the coming years, and liberal cities will collapse much like Venezuela. Get out while you can still sell your property for something close to its actual value. Buy a place in the country and practice self-reliance.

You want to tax the evil rich? Well here is what it looks like when you do that. I was just out of high school in Kiev Ukraine in the USSR.I had to complete my civil service to my country. I had just married and my husband was shipped off to Moscow to begin his two years of mandatory army service.I was sent to a local milk factory. The director of the factory told me he would pay me the government stipend of 40 rubles a month. My mother and I barely had enough money to feed ourselves and the extra 40 rubles would barely pay for the transportation for me to get to the factory 80 kilometers from our apartment. The Factory director told me he could help me with some extra cash if I would have sex with him. This is a very common request because there is no penalty for sexual harassment in the USSR. In fact I lost four jobs because I would not agree to be abused even though I was starving. When I refused the director I was treated very harsh. There were 15 men and 40 women working for the factory. They all drank vodka every day and by the end of the day it was dangerous because I was young and attractive, I became the target of everyone's sexual advances. The women did not help, in fact they were even worse to me because the men were not paying attention to them while I was there. I spent the next two years running and hiding for my life. I got pregnant the final 6 months of my service and thought they would leave me alone. It didn't help and now I had to deal with my Free Health Care provider. The Soviet State. The doctors study 4 years to become doctors and are paid the same as a street sweeper. The system demands bribes. The doctor I was assigned to, kept telling me he could not help unless I paid him 50 rubles. I didn't have 5 rubles and not enough to feed myself.I was very under weight during my pregnancy and my mother gave me all the extra food she could to help me. When it came time to give birth my doctor told me to find a way to pay the local medical director to change the place that they scheduled me to give birth. The birth house had a very bad reputation for deaths of mothers and infants. We had no money so I had to go where they placed me. The room was full of 8 other women in difference stages of labor. The nurses would walk by periodically and scream obscenities at all of us. Screaming to shut up. I was so scared I didn't say anything even though I was giving birth. I was lucky because one of the other ladies saw the head of my child and made the nurses come in and help. They caught the child before he hit the floor and they screamed at me some more. They took my son and laid him on a table near the window in the month of April. They did not cover him or me with a blanket. I was crying because I feared my child would die from the cold. The nurse just screamed at me to shut up. Free medical does not mean good treatment. Most Soviet women only have one child because of the free medical treatment. I barely survived Socialism and free everything. Be careful what you wish for. My second child was born in a wonderful hospital in AZ. We had to pay for it with cash because we had no insurance. The hospital was very gracious and lowered the cost for us, and the doctors donated their serves. People in America were so friendly and generous. If I would have had this kind of experience before I would have 4 more children. Thank God for America and the free market, where we could choose our place to give birth and find kind people in the process.
