(Natural News) It seems Seattle is now seeing what far-left policies look like in reality — and much like the rest of America’s most liberal cities, the results aren’t very pretty. An exclusive report by KOMO News details the sheer wreckage of once-beautiful Seattle. Like so many other cities on the Left Coast, far-left politics have transformed a vibrant metropolis into a decaying shell. Homelessness, drug addiction and crime now plague Seattle.

The news special, entitled, “Seattle Is Dying,” talks about how the city has devolved into a literal wasteland of streets infested with homeless drug addicts, theft and other crimes — and how politicians continue to turn a blind eye to these problems. Instead of combating addiction, local legislators advocate for safe injection sites and force police to let things slide for the sake politics.
Suffering in Seattle

Writing for KOMO News, Eric Johnson explains that there are actually three documentaries on the plight of Seattle. The first one, “There But For the Grace of God…,” examines homelessness in the city. “Demon at the Door,” the second documentary, looks at heroin addiction.
In “Seattle Is Dying,” the KOMO News crew investigates how life is for everyone else. Johnson writes:

It’s about citizens who don’t feel safe taking their families into downtown Seattle. It’s about parents who won’t take their children into the public parks they pay for. It’s about filth and degradation all around us. And theft and crime. It’s about people who don’t feel protected anymore, who don’t feel like their voices are being heard.

The documentary, Johnson says, is not meant to “demonize” people struggling on the city’s streets, but instead is meant to question why the city isn’t doing more to actually protect and help its citizens. Instead, it seems that local politicians and their ilk are doing everything in their power to drive the city further into chaos.
A city consumed by chaos
As Gateway Pundit reports, the documentary showcases how ineffective Democratic policies are. Instead of protecting citizens from crime and drugs, politicians are welcoming these behaviors into their cities with open arms and then letting the chips fall as they may. No one gets charged for “small” crimes anymore since district attorneys rarely goes after charges that involve theft, robbery or drug-dealing.
KOMO sent out an anonymous questionnaire for police officers to fill out to protect their identities — and the responses were shocking. Officers say city leaders, district attorneys and other higher-ups are colluding to keep Seattle’s inner turmoil under wraps. One former member of the Seattle police force said he quit because he couldn’t stand by and watch what was happening to the city anymore.
One of the most outrageous incidents involved a man, Louis Arbee, who beat and raped a 71-year-old woman living in an assisted living facility. Before the beating, Arbee had been arrested for dealing meth and was released on recognizance. Prior to that, Arbee served 19 years in prison for kidnapping, robbery and carjacking. Having been released from in 2015, Arbee was reportedly still under “community supervision” when he was arrested for dealing meth prior to the rape — prompting many to wonder why he was ever allowed out on recognizance in the first place.
Throughout the film, residents point to the election of the Socialist Alternative party’s Kshama Sawant to city council as when things in Seattle took a turn for the worse. Even labor unions are reportedly turning on Sawant due to her far-left ideologies.
Seattle is one of many cities to fall victim to leftist policies. Make no mistake, America’s major cities and states are not collapsing by accident. San Francisco, Chicago and New York are just some of the other “blue” cities that have taken a hit under socialist dogma — and its all part of the plan to tear down the U.S. and implement a new regime.

Kaiser Health News reports that a record number of homeless people died across Los Angeles County last year, on bus benches, parks, hillsides, railroad track, and sidewalks.
Deaths skyrocketed 76% in the last five years, far outpacing the growth in the city's homeless population.



As of 2018, the city's total homeless population was about 53,000, an increase of 39% since 2014. The study said a majority of the people weren't living in government shelters but rather on city streets.
Government officials and so-called experts have limited understanding of what the primary cause for the rise in deaths, but they said the opioid crisis could be a significant reason.

An increase in deaths outlines that Los Angeles County, a region of more than 10 million inhabitants, is in the midst of a homelessness crisis.
Based on that criteria, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner reported 3,612 deaths of homeless people from 2014 to 2018.

A closer examination of the deaths revealed where the homeless were dying.
About 33% died in hospitals and more than two-thirds died outside, in places like alleyways, sidewalks, parking lots, tent cities, parks, railroad tracks, and on freeway on-ramps.
Male deaths were much higher than female deaths, the study noted. Even though African Americans make up fewer than 10% of the county’s population, they accounted for 25% of the homeless deaths.

Substance abuse played a primary role in at least 25% of the deaths over the last five years, according to the coroner’s data.The coroner’s exact cause of death "doesnt necessarily tell the whole story," said Brian Elias, the county’s chief of coroner investigations, who was alarmed by the surge in homeless deaths.Dr. Paul Gregerson, chief medical officer for JWCH Institute clinics in the Los Angeles area, provides medical assistance to the homeless, says that many of the disadvantage people died from heart disease, cancer, lung disease, diabetes, and infections.There has also been a sharp increase in deaths of millennials who were homeless. For instance, the deaths associated with adults under 40 - more than doubled.

"We need to take action now," said Rev. Andy Bales, CEO of the Union Rescue Mission shelter on the city's infamous Skid Row. "Otherwise next year, it's going to be more than 1,000."

The report paints a grim picture of a public health crisis expanding like wildfire across Los Angeles.

As to why the report didn't mention the root cause of homelessness on the West Coast is beyond our comprehension. One of the main drivers has been income inequality, derived from the financialization of the economy and excessive monetary policy over the last decade or more, has collapsed the middle class, leaving them on borderline poverty levels.

(Natural News) Seeing the clear writing on the wall, corporate monolith Amazon has decided to pack its bags and head for greener pastures, with recently leaked plans to completely flee its longtime hometown of Seattle by the year 2023.

According to reports, the Seattle City Council’s recent attempt to impose a city-wide “head tax,” which would have billed Amazon and other large corporations some $275 per employee, per year, to pay for “affordable housing” – Amazon currently employs more than 45,000 people at its Seattle headquarters, which means it would have had to fork out nearly $12.5 million a year to the City of Seattle – was one of the last straws signaling to Amazon that it’s no longer welcome in the liberal enclave.
Sources say that Amazon won’t be going far, however. The company is already moving some of its employees just across Lake Washington to nearby Bellevue – which is actually where Amazon was originally started, before Jeff Bezos decided not long after the company was formed to head to Seattle, where he believed he’d find the strongest talent pool.
But because of how dramatically Seattle has changed in the interim, with its embrace of extreme Leftist politics that are highly unfavorable to companies trying to do business there, Amazon has decided to abandon its longtime roots and relaunch its operations elsewhere.
“Amazon plans to relocate its entire Seattle-based worldwide operations team to Bellevue, Wash., by 2023, adding thousands of employees to its new campus just across Lake Washington,” GeekWire recently revealed, citing an internal email it says it received from the company.
“Moving a large and critical team away from Amazon’s Seattle headquarters is a significant relocation of employees on its own, but it’s also a weighty symbolic gesture – the clearest sign yet that the tech giant is cooling on its hometown while doubling down on a neighboring city,” the report added.

Anti-business but pro-free stuff: the epitome of the Left’s economic ignorance
There was once a time when Seattle was a booming, pro-business tech hub, drawing high-caliber talent from all across the globe. But things are now in rapid decline, as the city’s uber-liberal constituency pushes for more “bleeding heart” policies that are systematically gutting the city’s business sector.
Whether one likes Amazon or not, there’s no denying that this major corporation has created tens of thousands of relatively high-paying jobs for Seattleites, most of whom will now be moving to pro-business Bellevue – leaving what will only amount to economic blight for Seattle in their wake.
It’s a similar situation to what recently happened in Queens, New York, where the Queen of Stupidity, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), drove Amazon out of town before it even had the chance to set up shop.
This seems to be the New Leftist Way: to condemn the business community and drive it out of town, while simultaneously demanding that more “free stuff” be handed out to the public. None of the Leftist who advocate for such a paradigm ever have an answer as to how it will work economically, but they howl for it just the same.
“It doesn’t look like modern-day liberals will stop until every business is chased away and every major city becomes a giant homeless camp rife with drugs and crime,” writes Brock Simmons for The Gateway Pundit, echoing this sentiment.
“I’m guessing all the folks who work for Amazon are less than happy with walking to work through needles / feces, aggressive homeless vagrants, ridiculously expensive cost of lunch, and so forth,” wrote a commenter at The Gateway Pundit, pointing out some of the other common features of far-Left enclaves like Seattle that also contribute to their anti-business atmospheres.
