Well the PC Police (Ford Foundation?) didn't like the term "black American" so they stupidly adopted the term "African-American" even though as this immigrant points out it has historically been used and is a more accurate description of Naturalized Americans from Africa!!
I don't see what was wrong with "black American", previous generations came up with that to replace the terms Negro and colored.

The same PC Police came up with the term "Native American", which also is confusing since every American born here is a native.

Maybe they want this confusion so they can say, "alright, to end this confusion everyone is now a "World Citizen".

The gentleman was born in Mozambique, just like Teresa Heinz Kerry, who had Portugese ancestry. He was born in Africa (the continent), he is a citizen and he declares himself white, or rather a non-Hispanic white African-American.
This gentleman is the perfect example of why our penchant for PC political correctness to stuff people into categories is unnatural.
I am glad this story has hit the news because, IMO, we have gone beyond the point of silly and have dropped off the cliff into insanity.
