Maasive Casualties in Power Plant Explosion

This plant was under construction and that makes me wonder if illegals were on the job site. If anyone hears about raising money to send a person back home for burial let me know.

Fatalities Reported After Massive Explosion at Connecticut Power Plant
    Sunday, February 07, 2010

Feb. 7: Multiple fatalities were reported after a massive explosion at the Kleen Energy power plant in Middletown, Conn.
Mass casualities and multiple injuries were reported Sunday after a massive explosion at a Connecticut power plant, police confirmed to Fox News.

The explosion occurred just before 11:30 a.m. local time at the Kleen Energy plant on River Road in Middletown, Conn.

Medical rescue personnel said there were at least two fatalities, and at least 100 people injured — including four in critical condition — the Hartford Courant reported. The paper also reported that as many as 20 ambulances were on scene and quoted a witness as saying "there are bodies everywhere."

Dozens of witnesses said black smoke could be seen for miles.

Police are advising everyone to stay away from the area.

The power plant was reportedly undergoing construction at the time of the explosion, though authorities said they do not know what caused it.

I'm not sure that 2 qualifies as "Massive Casualties".

At least 2 dead in Conn. power plant explosion

More people are injured, fire official says

    Your headline says

    Your subject says

One very important factoid is missing from this article.

    What kind of power plant?

Explosion at coal plant, that's bad.

Explosion at nuclear plant.... possible Chernobyl.

Official: Less Than 50 Hurt In Conn. Plant Blast
    MIDDLETOWN, Conn.
    CBS

A town fire official in Connecticut says fewer than 50 people have been injured an explosion at a power plant under construction. Multiple people have died, but officials say they don't know how many.

Al Santostefano, the deputy fire marshal in Middletown, tells The Associated Press that 50 construction workers were in the section of the power plant where the explosion happened, and some people survived, so the number of injured is fewer than 50.

Santostefano says dogs are at looking for victims in the rubble, but there are no signs of life.

He says workers were purging the gas lines at the time of the explosion.

The 620-megawatt plant was being built to produce energy primarily using natural gas.

Gov. Jody Rell is on her way to the scene.

Sources told CBS affiliate WFSB-TV that at least 250 people were injured with at least two people confirmed dead.

St. Francis and Yale-New Haven Hospitals in Connecticut have been on disaster standby to take in injured people from the scene.

Fire departments from around the area are responding.

WFSB-TV said it has received calls from people miles away who said that their homes shook from the force of the explosion.

I just read that it is a clean burn plant that will burn natural gas or low sulphur oil,
which ever is cheaper at the time.
Anyway I think that is the correct plant.
