I can't put into words the stunning turn of politics happening on Long Island tonight. Republicans are leading in all major races. County Exec, District Atty, County Clerk, County Comptroller, N. Hempstead, Oyster Bay and Hempstead town supervisors, and several key leg races...

And in Suffolk County, the Republican challenger is leading in the key District Atty race, in the key Huntington Town supe race, and in the up for grabs Legislative race in Huntington, too.

Trump-Backed Candidates Sweep Election Day 4-0; Beginning of Nationwide Trump Comeback?

by daniel3 hours ago3 hours ago

By now you’ve heard about the major political earthquake in Virginia.
A Republican has won the governorship in what has recently been a Blue state.
But what you haven’t heard is how Trump’s endorsements have fared.
Turns out they did really well.
Trending: Chants of “Kamala is a Wh*re” Greet Harris at Carnegie Hall in NYC

It was a clean sweep for President Trump.
All four of Trump’s endorsements won their races in last night’s election
Trump endorsed Glenn Youngkin, Mike Carey, Vito Fosella, and Esteban Bovo.

Democrats made the Virginia race about Trump. Republicans won up and down the ticket. Now the media is talking about how this Victory is in spite of Trump, not because of him. It’s laughable.

Trump was one of the first Republicans to call out the Anti-White & Anti-American CRT Agenda. The idea that a Virginia race largely impacted by the issue of CRT is some repudiation of Trump is absolutely ridiculous.

    9:45 PM · Nov 2, 2021

    Why does this matter?
It proves that President Trump is still in control of the Republican party.
    The Democrats ran against Trump.
They made all the races about Trump, and they lost.
    What does that tell you?

This appears to suggest that Trump’s brand and popularity is making a comeback, especially as the Biden administration implodes with disaster after disaster.
The Washington Examiner confirms Trump’s influence and popularity:
Yes, Virginia (and the rest of the country), Donald Trump matters.
With his post-election popularity and influence at the highest, the former president’s four endorsed candidates in Tuesday’s elections all won, highlighted by Virginia Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin, the rookie politician who beat lifetime pol Terry McAuliffe.
In the elections, two Trump-backed candidates also beat two of President Joe Biden’s endorsed challengers — the victories seen by some Republicans as a sign of 2020 election buyer’s remorse and a 2024 preview.
“The power of President Trump’s endorsement is undeniable,” said Brian Jack, the former Trump White House political director.
“President Trump continues to be a huge boost for Republicans across the country,” added Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
Trump has already begun endorsing other candidates up in 2022, notably Herschel Walker running for the Georgia Senate seat.
In Virginia last night, Trump endorsed Youngkin, and Youngkin embraced the support. But he also kept the former president at arm’s length as McAuliffe tried to build liberal support by bashing the link.
In the coming weeks, expect media pundits to try to turn this against Trump.
Even “Republican” operatives are saying that Youngkin won without Trump, but that isn’t true.
Trump endorsed Youngkin, and Youngkin enjoyed the support of the MAGA base.

Don’t forget that Democrats made the race about Trump.
If this race was truly about Trump like they claimed, then Trump won.
    By a landslide.
But now that Trump won, they’re trying to backpedal.
Let’s not forget what CNN published just a few weeks ago:
Terry McAuliffe may be running against Glenn Youngkin, but his ultimate rhetorical opponent in the closing days of Virginia’s off-year gubernatorial race is a Republican who lost a year ago.
“We don’t need a Donald Trump in khakis,” McAuliffe said of Youngkin while launching his campaign’s final bus tour on Friday in Arlington.
And voters at McAuliffe’s rally on Thursday evening with Vice President Kamala Harris clearly got the message.
“He is a bad photocopy of Trump,” Nelson Zaragoza, a mechanic from Stafford, Virginia, said of Youngkin, comparing him to former President Donald Trump. “He supports everything that Trump has been trying to push, he is doing the same thing.”
The level Democratic campaigns in Virginia have focused on Trump over the last few months has turned the off-year elections into the biggest test yet for whether the former President, who motivated historic Democratic turnout for the years he was either on the ballot or in power, still motivates the party’s base to vote in extraordinary numbers. This lesson, determined by how the tight Virginia’s races for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general end up on November 2, will reverberate within the Democratic Party for years, as both official party committees and outside organizations try to understand how to motivate voters after four years of Trump in the White House.
NATIONAL POLL: Are You Happy Melania Replaced Michelle As First Lady?

McAuliffe, a candidate who rarely does subtlety, has not minced words about tying Youngkin to Trump, who remains unpopular in Virginia a year after losing the commonwealth by 10 points. His ads have pilloried Youngkin as a Trump acolyte, the former Democratic governor has repeatedly called him a Trump “wannabe,” and, in the closing weeks of the campaign, McAuliffe is warning that Youngkin and Trump are “running together” and the former President “wants to use this election to get him off the mat to get him ready for 2024.”
That tells you everything you need to know.
The Democrats may try to spin their way out of this.
    But they ran against Trump.
    And they lost.
    That’s the reality.

Republicans Gain Stunning 2021 Election Victories as Democrats Reel

    By Mark Tapscott
    November 3, 2021 Updated: November 3, 2021

    News Analysis
When Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears, and Jason Miyares take their oaths of office next January in Richmond, it will mark the first time since 2009 that Republicans will be Virginia’s governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general.
The victorious GOP trio’s upset victory on Nov. 2 came just a year after President Joe Biden swept Virginia by 10 points. The trio defeated Democratic rivals by an average of only 1.66 percentage points, according to the latest available official returns.
But that narrow margin was achieved despite multiple campaign appearances in the state for Youngkin’s opponent, former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, by Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama.
Republicans also regained a narrow 51–49 majority in the Virginia House of Delegates and flipped seven seats from Democrats in the process.
The Virginia results led a wave of GOP wins across the country that sets the stage for the 2022 midterm election, when control of Congress during the last two years of Biden’s term will be decided.
Harris, in a campaign speech during McAuliffe’s final push, declared the election “a bellwether for what happens in the rest of the country in 2022 and 2024 and beyond.” Had she known in advance what would happen on Nov. 2, Harris likely wouldn’t have said that.
In solidly Democratic New Jersey, the contest between incumbent Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, who was heavily favored to win big, and Republican Jack Ciattarelli was too close to call the morning after voting closed.
Ultimately, Murphy eked out a victory thanks to late returns from Bergen County, a heavily Democratic area. Polls before Nov. 2 had Murphy up by double digits.
Another strong indicator of a Republican grassroots victory nationwide came in multiple state legislative races in which the party’s candidates won seats previously long-held by Democrats.
Besides the Virginia flips, Texas Republicans switched three state legislative seats from Democrats, including one in a heavily Hispanic district in San Antonio that Biden carried by 14 points in 2020.
Two New Jersey Assembly seats flipped from Democrats to Republicans on Nov. 2, while the GOP regained state legislative seats earlier in the year in Connecticut and Iowa. The party also elected a new member of the Pennsylvania state Supreme Court.
Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) Chairman Lee Duncan called the state-level wins “further evidence that the socialist policies being pushed by Democrat-controlled Washington are turning off the very constituencies they claim to be fighting for.”
Elections are almost never decided by a single factor and Nov. 2, 2021, is no exception, according to campaign strategists interviewed by The Epoch Times.
Virginia was ground-zero for a gathering nationwide campaign among parents outraged by public schools indoctrinating their children with lessons based on critical race theory (CRT), according to Heritage Action for America Executive Director Jessica Anderson.
“Last night, Virginia led the nation and took the critical first step in rejecting the left’s cultural and economic agenda,” Anderson told The Epoch Times. “When parents see how ‘woke’ policies hurt their children and their communities, they spring into action, and we saw this first-hand in Virginia.”
“Elected officials across the country should take note: Americans of all political persuasions are fed up with the left’s social and cultural extremism, and they’re voting like it,” said Anderson, who warned in June that CRT would be a decisive issue.
Republican strategist Brian Darling, former counsel to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), told The Epoch Times the results “are a sign that the woke politics of Democrats have driven away swing voters.”
“Just look at the treatment of Sens. [Kyrsten] Sinema [D-Ariz.] and [Joe] Manchin [D-W.V.] to see how Democrats are treating moderates while most Democratic voters are center-left,” he said.
“Already, we are hearing that Democrats are learning the wrong lessons from the election. The left is arguing that they just needed to pass more spending bills and the American people were wrong to believe that public education for kids is migrating toward a hate-America style CRT.”
As a result, Darling expects “the 2022 midterms to be a political disaster for Democrats because the agenda has been captured by progressives intent on driving the party into the ground.”
“They will learn all the wrong lessons from this Election Day,” he said.
Democrat strategist Kevin Chavous remains optimistic about his party’s future, but he told The Epoch Times that Democrats can no longer depend on the Trump factor.
“The Virginia results show us that we can no longer expect to win races based on anti-Trump sentiment alone. Trump lost already, and we must move on as a party and find new ways to energize our voters,” Chavous said. “Democrats need to give voters a reason to vote for us by telling them what we will do if elected.”
Asked on Nov. 3 if Democrats’ congressional strategy will now change, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said simply, “No.”
