Green Policies and Government Incompetence Led to the Tragedy of the Maui Fire

As many as 1000 persons, many of them children, may have died as a result of the fire in Maui. The exact toll -- above the hundreds documented -- is difficult to assess right now as the bodies are charred beyond recognition and scientific equipment to test the remains are not readily available, but the tragedy -- naturally and without basis -- is being blamed on "climate change” in many of the media accounts. In fact, these people died as human sacrifices to green policies, legislative and corporate missteps, and administrative incompetence. The citizens of Hawaii, a solidly Democratic one-party state, are learning what those of similarly governed urban centers are learning: elect incompetents who forget their first duty is to protect their constituents and you will suffer. Will they respond as they ought to and vote out of office the governor and legislature responsible?
The fire began at 12:22 a.m. when most residents were home. Sirens could have alerted them to get out of danger, but none were utilized. Maui’s emergency operations chief, Herman Andaya, who lacked any background in disaster response, said they were used to alert residents that a tsunami was coming and to go to higher ground and he feared if he sounded the alarm people would move to higher ground where the fire was. Governor Josh Green defended Andaya’s decision. Andaya, citing “health concerns” has resigned.
Firefighters on the scene were denied water to fight the fires. M. Kaleo Manuel, who previously said, “My motto has always been: let water connect us, not divide us,” is an Obama Foundation leader and it was he who refused to release the water so firefighters could fight the conflagration and save lives and property. Water is a precious commodity on the island and Manuel’s focus was on assuring plantations did not take so much of it that native downstream farms lacked enough water. West Maui Land Co. sought water to fight the fire, but Manuel balked, saying the company should first seek permission from a native Hawaiian traditional farm downstream. Other companies also sought water to fight the fires and he refused all of them, even though unlike West Maui Land Co., they had no water disputes with that native farm. When Manuel finally released the water, it was too late. He has been reassigned.
The fire itself was occasioned by hurricane force winds passing over drought-stricken land. Toppled electric wires ignited flammable grasses around those wires. Electricity was not shut down during the storm and much is made of the company’s failure to remove the grasses, but the story is a bit more complicated.

During the 2019 wildfire season, one of the worst Maui had ever seen, Hawaiian Electric concluded that it needed to do far more to prevent its power lines from emitting sparks...

Hawaiian Electric has made reference in regulatory filings to the risks of power-line fires, but it waited years to take significant action, documents and interviews show. During that period, the company was undertaking a state-mandated shift to renewable energy...
Hawaii has been on a push to convert to renewables since 2008, when a run-up in oil prices sent electrical rates at Hawaiian Electric -- which relied on petroleum imports for 80% of its energy supply -- through the roof. In 2015, lawmakers passed legislation mandating that the state derive 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2045, the first such requirement in the U.S...
“You have to look at the scope and scale of the transformation within [Hawaiian Electric] that was occurring throughout the system,” said Mina Morita, who chaired the state utilities commission from 2011 to 2015. “While there was concern for wildfire risk, politically the focus was on electricity generation.”
Gov. Green’s biography reports that from 2008 to 2018, he served in the Hawaii state Senate, “including as Majority Floor Leader, Chair of the Health and Human Services committees, and Vice Chair of the Energy and Environment, and Human Services and Housing committees.”
Last year in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Mr. Green wrote:
As a state senator, I sponsored Hawaii’s first renewable portfolio standards that mandated a substantial portion of Hawaii’s future energy production come from renewable energy sources.
Perhaps what is most needed right now is a moratorium on Green electricity proposals that do not prioritize fire safety.

Adding to the loss of life, Maui had no fire evacuation plan and law enforcement blocked escape routes -- the road is full of charred vehicles many with bodies inside of those prevented from escape.

No one in Maui lost their home or business because of climate change. The blame is entirely on the government, which (1) failed to act despite years of warnings of wildfire vulnerability, (2) failed to approve Hawaii Electric's plan to reduce risk of power line fires, and (3) even failed to act once the disaster started.

As of yesterday, Maui residents were still suffering greatly: authorities are blocking relief efforts -- in some cases fed up people are trying to bring needed supplies in on private boats and paddle boards. Thirty miles away is a major military installation, but troops there, along with the National Guard, have not to my knowledge been deployed to the island to offer assistance.
The President’s response to the fire, from his perch in Delaware, was “no comment.”
Having failed to act competently to save lives, the government of Hawaii is instead working on a sales moratorium to prevent property owners from selling the land, and rumors abound that the state wants to grab it and sell it off to rich cronies, not an entirely absurd belief as much of the best land is already in the hands of people like Oprah and Bezos, land untouched by the flames.
The climate change goonies like the Washington Post writers are now spreading fears of “toxic exposures.” Nonsense. As Steve Milloy tweets: ”People who were not harmed by acute exposures during the fire and not likely to be harmed by low level exposures in the aftermath.” There’s no reason to believe a government so feckless ever will do the right thing, but it should bulldoze the rubble, and find creative financing for survivors to rebuild. It’s my understanding that most of the destroyed buildings are old and must now be rebuilt according to new, more expensive building codes. Uninsured losses should be covered by the government responsible for the losses.

A book chronicling the "events of August 8-11, 2023," in Maui, Hawaii, was published on Amazon this week – see the screenshot below – on August 10, before the "events" had even concluded.
Notice that Dr. Miles Stones' book "Fire and Fury: The Story of the 2023 Maui Fire and its Implications for Climate Change," was released prior to the fires even fully running their course. How did Dr. Stones know what was going to happen on August 11 the day before – and more importantly, how did Dr. Stones get the book written and published so fast?

As usual, the book's claim is that "global warming" and "climate change" are responsible for the fires. It also claims to draw from "eyewitness accounts, official reports, and media coverage" to paint a picture of what took place on the island.
How was Dr. Stones able to interview eyewitnesses and gather official reports before the disaster had even concluded? And even if such a feat were humanly possible, how in the world did he compile it all into a book that was ready for publishing right smack-dab in the middle of the disaster's culmination?

Do time machines exist, or is the wool being pulled over everyone's eyes?

It was not until August 11, a full day after Amazon published Dr. Stones' book, that Maui officials had even updated their death count and admitted that "neither Maui nor HI-EMA activated warning sirens on Maui" had gone off "during the wildfire incident."

It was also on August 11 that the media reported that the Lahaina fire was 85 percent contained, meaning it was still burning at the time when Dr. Stones' book about the entire incident in its completion was published to Amazon.
Perhaps someone invented a time machine and we simply missed the memo, but none of this makes any sense. Even so, Dr. Stones' book is available for purchase on Amazon, even though it has only one-star reviews from people outing it as shameless propaganda.
"More propaganda from you know who," one of them wrote in disgust. "As the progressives say: never let a good crisis go to waste."
Another suggested that perhaps Dr. Stones is just an artificial intelligence (AI) robot that came up with a narrative before the disaster had even completed in order to generate interest, rake in profits, and instill more climate change turds of misinformation into the minds of gullible readers.
"Inaccurate and insensitive," this person wrote. "Smells of AI even before the smoke clears (literally)."
Obviously, the Maui fires were planned well in advance, suggested another. How else could Dr. Stones know what was going to happen before it even did, all while writing, publishing, and cashing checks even as the fires were still burning.
"This book was published while the catastrophe was still happening," someone else said.
We clearly live in a time when truth no longer matters and logic has been thrown out the window. In years past, a book like this never would have even gotten the chance to be published because the globalists would have never dared to show their cards in such a blatant way.
In the year 2023, however, all bets are off as to how low the deep state will go – and how obviously it will do so – until the pitchforks come out and We the People really start demanding honest answers to these strange and utterly surreal anomalies.
