Hershey's also bought Scharffenberger Chocolate and is taking it to Mexico....just so ya know. Apparently the owner of Scharffenberger died. So that is one more chocolate off my list. Ghirardelli is still made in San Leandro, California. Ghirardelli is the only one left that I know of that is still american. Does anyone know of any others? ....

Just sent them email, I told them I hope Hershey, Pa, sues for the removal of their name as a Company name since it no longer applies. I also questioned the sanitary conditions of Mexico and the quality of any food product from Mexico. If you can't drink the water....

I always buy Endangered Species Chocolate, a company based in Indianapolis, IN and gives 10 percent of their profits to help endangered species. They buy their cacao from Africa and Peru, stressing fair trade and even send their cacao farmers chocolate so they can taste the finished product. I have e-mailed them to ask where their factories are located, but it does say product of USA.
This chocolate tastes better than Hershey stuff even has. I get it at the health food store.

My wife is gonna freak out when I tell her we are boycotting Hershey's. I swear it's like giving honey to a bear. She can be on a tazmanian devil style rampage but give her some chocolate and all is good with the world.

    Hershey's Job loss

A lot of good Obama's doing. He's supposed to be creating more jobs for America instead people are losing jobs. Unfortunately I love Hershey's chocolate but now I'm never eating/buying it again.

    Welcome, riseagainst16!
But while Obama has been in office only two months, this crap has been going on for at least 30 years. Everything has been for sale in this country. Westvaco and the corporation owning 7-11 stores are both majority owned by Japanese. Foreign companies run our ports and toll roads. IBM had the wisdom to sell its PC business and technology to Red China; Microsoft has outsourced their call centers to India and insourced foreign programmers, and I could go on, but I won't. The laws in this country need a very big change so that only Americans can own real estate, like they have in Europe, and say that because with our real estate market collapse, the Chinese are sending loads of investors here to buy our foreclosed properties.
As far as chocolate, also try Toblerone, made in Switzerland, who does not really seem to want to invade us yet.
