How much power did they have? (I noticed the holsters but were they armed with guns?)

Many private security officers are licensed to carry guns. They do FBI background checks, and mental tests as well. Before it makes you feel secure, I have a friend discharged from the army for mental instability who managed to get an armed private security guard license.
