Early this year, selected delegates representing the People of each of the fifty states will convene in Philadelphia to debate our constitutional crisis and establish practicable strategies the People can take, en masse, to peacefully reclaim Liberty and restore Constitutional Order.
These historical proceedings will be known as the “Continental Congress 2009.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

One major part this alleged Contential Congress is forgetting is that the delegates they are sending have not been elected by "we the people". What's constitutional about that? They are self appointed.

Seems to me that the reason Obama isn't held to Constitutional requirements, is that he's a president of a Democracy, not a Republic.
In a democracy, majority of CORPORATE citizens rule, and Constitution doesn't apply. If you want the republic back, you'll have to WITHDRAW from democracy by cancelling the corporate benefits you accepted from the current corporate government.
For more info, see my "Decline from republic ..." post.

The delegates to the first and second Continental Congress were not necessarily elected by the majority of people either.
The Continental Congress was a de facto, provisional national government without legal basis whose members drafted and ratified our Constitution, upon which individual state governments were established.
Therefore, the legality of the Constitution itself could possibly be challenged.
In North Carolina, prior to the Articles of Confederation, which were written and adopted by the second Continental Congress, the NC colony’s delegates to the Continental Congress were elected by the First Provincial Congress Assembly of NC, which was created by The First Provincial Congress. The First Provincial Congress was created by the Province of NC, which was chartered by 8 British Lord Proprietors. Thus the state was a remnant of British Colonial rule, whose delegates to the Continental Congress were also chosen/appointed under British charter, therefore the legality of the alliance to the U.S. government or Constitution could possibly be challenged.

I get the impression (possibly WRONG, but whatever ) that the purpose of this gathering is going to be for the preparation of a Citizens' List of Grievances about perceived Constitutional usurpations and infringements. From the forwarded e-mail I got about this undertaking, the purpose is NOT to come up with a new Constitution but to defend the one we've already got.
Since the right of people to "assemble" and to "peacefully petition" is part of the framework, I'd say ... Let 'em do it and see what comes out of the gathering.
The people who seem to be pursuing this from my state seem to have a cross-intersection with the Americans for Prosperity movement. Or they were supporters of the Constitution Party or were fans of Ron Paul. And they tend toward careful attention to what the federal and state constitutions both say, and are always writing letters to the editor about when politicians stray and go wandering off the Reservation that's supposed to keep them confined. (And keep their dirty little fingers out of our wallets, too.)

I agree it is a start and I also understand it is to preserve the constitiution we now have and THAT IS GOOD , and hold the thieves in DC accountable...actually many of them should be up for treason...
I for one am sick of them letting the whole world into our country with out our approval .....come on, HAMAS and when millions of Americans are out of work, and we can not control the immigration we have now! give it up.
Not to mention all of our rights they are stepping on and selling our country litterally, giving away citizenship to people who should not get it.
