New Wave of Irish Arriving
I know this isn't much, but I am too cheap to pay the premium subscription price. I thought maybe we should keep our eyes open for more info.
From personal experience, I know that Irish Immigration Centers are there for the illegals. When My husband first came here and had questions, they did not have the time of day for him because of his LEGAL status.

New Wave of Irish Arriving
January 23, 2008
By April Drew
IRISH immigration centers across the U.S. are reporting an influx of new Irish immigrants over the past few months, specifically in the month of January. A worsening Irish economy appears to be behind much of the new influx.

The recent boom in the Irish economy resulted in an influx of workers mostly from Poland and Lithuania. Now that there has been an economic contraction it is not easy to get them to leave as their income is still higher than it would be at home. There are rising income expectations and with competition from Poles the wage levels have stagnated. Since they can not find the jobs and income they wanted they are looking here again.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Its sad in a way. So many countries are so poor and in such straights that it will take some time for them to enter a prosperous state.
No country can afford to take in the worlds poor, not the USA; not any country. We can understand why and sympathize but nations need to survive for their own citizens. Absorption of emigrants cannot be done quickly nor when massive amounts of people enter. This is aggravated when its also done on a large scale illegally.
Education is wonderful, but these poor countries need to provide jobs for these educated as well. All developed countries like educated emigrants, they ususally become a credit to their adopted country. But no country should be taking a lot of the highly educated from their home country, since they are most undoubtably needed there the most.
Its only natural for any human to want a better life. A little extra money for fun things, decent housing, healthcare, good food. The little comforts, that most people in developed countries take for granted. A safe comfortable life. A small pc. of the pie.
But what is discerning, is that illegal and some groups of legal emigrants think that the country they are in should revolve around them. Immigration has become something of importance in each and every developed country. Most are being affected by people unwilling to assimilate and are driving divisions within those countries.
Those people should not be allowed to disrupt a whole nation, any nation.

Everytime I go to grocery store I see an irish flag , reason I know it's irish is because I stopped and ask ,[ at first I thought it was islamic flag, same colors ] . No American flag above it ,no American flag at all matter of fact !

Elvira was protected by a Methodist church. Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in Long Beach houses many illegals seeking "sanctuary". Matter of fact, the Virgina Episcopalians voted that all of their churches are "sanctuaries"
Make no mistake here, there is no room in this movement for either racism or religion bashing. When it comes to illegal sanctuaries in this country, The Catholics have done nothing that the other Christian churches have not done, and far less than other denominations have done. I for one will not let this group be torn apart because of bigotry.Proud American and wife of a wonderful LEGAL immigrant from Ireland.

Catholics did lose alot of money when the priest molestation news came out . They had to get more attendants from somewhere .
Just like other churces lost people over Jimmy Swaggat and Tammy Faye Baker and other fallen church leaders .
Calling people names is not the way to keep us united . I did not call anyone a name . Maybe you should turn your other 'cheek' and act more 'christiany'!
