This morning Jeff Zients, the official in charge of the so-called “tech surge,” addressed the supposed success in meeting the deadline to “fix” the Obamacare website. CNN says, ummm… not so much.
Even though they claim “substantial progress” towards this goal, many doubts remain. The failures of the website have been documented extensively by the media, but they often give the Obama administration one great advantage – no clear metric of success was set in advance. That allows the administration to set whatever yardstick they want and count it a victory.
From the update this morning:

9:24 AM - 1 Dec 2013
Jamie Dupree ✔ @jamiedupree Follow Zients asked how http://healthcare.gov visit numbers compare to sites like Amazon - but never gives an answer
9:35 AM - 1 Dec 2013
Juliet Eilperin ✔ @eilperin Follow The admin has made big progress on http://HealthCare.gov , Zients says, like the fact that the site is up 95% of the time vs 42% in Oct.
9:26 AM - 1 Dec 2013
A 95% success rate? Let’s just say Obama’s word isn’t terribly trusted these days.
