North Korea Has The Largest Military In The World

    Monday, March 11, 2013 10:29

    (Before It's News)

The North Korean Military not only boasts the largest army in the world at 9.4 million personel under arms but also the largest special forces and submarine fleet in the world. The Korean People's Army operates a very large amount of equipment, including 4,060 tanks, 2,500 APCs, 17,900 artillery pieces, 11,000 air defense guns and some 10,000 MANPADS and anti-tank guided missiles in the Ground force. There are at least 915 vessels in the Navy and 1,748 aircraft in the Air Force.

There are about 180,000 special operational forces soldiers. The map above shows the disposition of the special forcs of North Korea. Over time, the % of the overall forces of the North korean military have adjusted towards the DMZ.

The North Korean military also has nuclear weapons.
So before anyone thinks that North Korea is just a joke. Think again. They are armed to the teeth, they have WMD, they have the largest military in the world and are super prepared for war. This isn't Iraq or the Taliban. And before you think it won't happen, that China may put a stop to it, look at what China invested in the 1950's to make sure North Korea wasn't conquered by the combned ROK/UN/US forces:

According to Chinese archives, about 73 percent of Chinese infantry forces, 67 percent of Chinese artillery forces, 100 percent of Chinese armored forces and 52 percent of Chinese air forces were deployed in Korea at one point or another, alongside 600,000 civilian laborers – in total more than three million civilian and military personnel. Out of those forces, around 152,000 were killed, 383,500 were wounded, 450,000 were hospitalized, 21,300 were captured and 4,000 were missing. Of the captured 14,190 defected to Taiwan after the ceasefire. China had also consumed 5.6 million tons of war materiel, 399 aircraft and 12,916 vehicles for its war efforts. About a third of the Chinese government's annual budget was spent on the military between 1950–53, totaling 10 billion RMB by the war's end. All in all, the Korean War was the largest foreign war in Chinese military history, despite the fact that no declaration of war ever existed between China and United Nations forces Source

I believe the largest active military force in the world (China) will continue to stickby the largest military in the world (DPRK). -Mort
