As surely as the slowdown is exposing weak retailers, anemic growth and nearly zero credit eventually had to hit home. Analysts, for instance, worry that theme parks this summer will drag down earnings for the big media companies that own them.

Both Coke and Pepsi are rolling out "recession-sizedâ€

I was raised in the 40's and I remember my grandfather stating that in time the wealthy would prevent working class from driving, having hobbies etc, at the time I thought perhaps it was a rambling of an old man however as I see the future for my children/grandchildren I see a difficult time for the working class, owning a home will be rare except for the wealthy, cars, the same, hobbies that cost will be nixed. America in truth is committing suicide with foreign policy, trade, outsourcing and importingt slave labor.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

all ready happening around here, I see lots boats sitting idle and many for sale(and no being sold) here at the beach. The boat ramp where I launch mine and during the summer fussed about all the no boatn weekend warrior tourist clogging up the ramp are not near as many.

My Dad said the same thing....but he thought it would be because people lived beyond their means and he was a stickler about paying up-front for everything and owning it. Now even when you own it they are trying to take it away. So many elderly are loosing their homes that they OWN simply because of taxes. I am stunned with the price of cars and insurance is getting insane. You pay for it and then pay again to use it and it's a never ending cycle. Fee for this, tax for that....they had an article in the paper with job pay for high school graduates, 2 yr. college degrees and 4 yr college degrees. Didn't really pay off till you were in your 40's and 50's....in which the truth is, they fire you and hire a younger worker or bring in cheap labor......so what's the point? Even an education doesn't seem to pay off anymore. I remember before they tore the wall down and they talked about Russians......Dr's weren't paid much more than any other worker. Wasn't much later we started bringing in foreign Dr.s who worked for less and now it's not even a profession many choose anymore because it doesn't hold the unlimited wealth it used to. Shoot I see a nurse most of the time and that kills me ... but I know she isn't getting paid squat. I wonder what the job is that the elite will be doing to stay rich?
