New York Times: Democrats Backing Fake Tea Party Candidates

Increasingly desperate and fearful of a GOP takeover of Congress, the Democratic Party is secretly supporting fake tea party and other third-party candidates in the hopes of diverting votes from Republican contenders.

The stunning conclusion was made in a page one New York Times story headlined “Democrats Back Third Parties to Siphon Votesâ€

Well, that is a dirty move but it's no different than what happened to Dede Scozzafavo in the NY 23rd by a Conservative Party candidate in 2008. In fact, as Republicans struggle to win back that seat, Doug Hoffman the Conservative Party candidate, was still trying to keep the seat in the Democratic corner. Thankfully, Hoffman withdrew last Tuesday, to make it a 2 way race between Republican Matt Doheny and Democrat Bill Owens which gives Doheny a good chance, but it's a toss up at this point.
