DALLAS (Reuters) – The first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, Thomas Eric Duncan, died on Wednesday morning at a Dallas hospital, a hospital spokesman said.
“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 am,” hospital spokesman Wendell Watson said in an emailed statement.
Duncan became ill after arriving in the Texas city from the West African country of Liberia on Sept. 20 to visit family, heightening concerns the world’s worst Ebola outbreak on record could spread in the United States.

W.H.O. contradicts CDC, admits Ebola can spread via coughing, sneezing and by touching contaminated surfaces

(NaturalNews) The World Health Organization has issued a bulletin which confirms what Natural News has been asserting for weeks: that Ebola can spread via indirect contact with contaminated surfaces and aerosolized droplets produced from coughing or sneezing.

"...wet and bigger droplets from a heavily infected individual, who has respiratory symptoms caused by other conditions or who vomits violently, could transmit the virus -- over a short distance -- to another nearby person," says a W.H.O. bulletin released this week. That same bulletin also says, "The Ebola virus can also be transmitted indirectly, by contact with previously contaminated surfaces and objects."

In other words, the WHO just confirmed what the CDC says is impossible -- that Ebola can be acquired by touching a contaminated surface.

CDC remains in total denial, spreading dangerous disinformation about Ebola transmission vectors


This information published by the WHO directly contradicts the ridiculous claims of the CDC which continues to insist Ebola cannot spread through "indirect" means.

According to the CDC, Ebola can only spread via "direct contact," but the CDC is basing this assumption on the behavior of the Ebola outbreak from 1976 -- nearly four decades ago.

The CDC, in fact, continues to push five deadly assumptions about Ebola, endangering the lives of Americans in the process by failing to communicate accurate safety information to health professionals and the public.

Because of the CDC's lackadaisical attitude about Ebola transmission, the Dallas Ebola outbreak may have been made far worse by people walking in and out of the Ebola-contaminated Duncan apartment while wearing no protective gear whatsoever.

Because the CDC sets the standards for dealing with infectious disease in the United States, when the CDC claims Ebola can only spread via "direct contact," that causes emergency responders, Red Cross volunteers and even family members to conclude, "Then we don't even need to wear latex gloves as long as we're not touching the patient!"

Not "airborne" but can spread through the air


Both the CDC and the WHO continue to aggressively insist that Ebola is not an "airborne" disease. "Ebola virus disease is not an airborne infection," says the WHO bulletin. But that same bulletin describes the ability of Ebola to spread through the air via aerosolized droplets.

The medical definition of "airborne," it turns out, is a specific, narrow definition that defies the common understanding of the term. To most people, "airborne" means it can spread through the air, and Ebola most certainly can spread through the air when it is attached to aerosolized particles of spit, saliva, mucus, blood or other body fluids.

The CDC has now admitted there is a slight possibility of Ebola mutating to become "airborne" but says that chance is very small. [2] However, all honest virologists agree that the longer Ebola remains in circulation in West Africa, replicating among human hosts, the more chances it has to mutate into an airborne strain.

But the virus doesn't need to mutate to continue to spread. It has already proven quite capable of spreading via indirect contact in a way that all the governments of the world have been utterly unable to stop. Despite the best efforts of the CDC and WHO, Ebola continues to replicate out of control across West African nations. Even in the United States, the Dallas "patient zero" incident has reportedly caused 100 people to be monitored for possible Ebola infections.

This is why government claims that "we have this under control" are just as much hogwash as the claim that Ebola can only spread via "direct contact."

But that seems to be the default response of government to all legitimate threats: first, deny reality and misinform the public. Keep people in the dark and maybe the whole thing can be swept under the rug... at least until the mid-term elections.

Ebola shouldn't be a partisan thing, right? But, it looks like the Democrats are trying to make it one. Or at least use people's Ebola fears to boast their agenda.

Appearing on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, former Obama official Van Jones posed that the Democrats should use Ebola in their midterm politicking.
He said:

Well, we've to get our base going. The other thing too is that we can't let the Republicans get away with some of the stuff they're doing this week, just trying to bash Obama. Hey, you know, government is always your enemy until you need a friend. This Ebola thing is the best argument you can make for the kind of government that we believe in. A year ago Ted Cruz shut down America's government, shut down the CDC over shenanigans. What if that happened this year? You got to start putting the Republicans on the defensive for the fact that they believe that you can take a wrecking ball to America's government, never pay a price. Obamacare means that 8 million people who couldn't have gone to the doctor last year, if they feel sick today, they would if they got Obama, they can go see the doctor. The Democrats have got to start talking like that.

Seasoned insurance businessman Mike Papadopoulos said he thought that the Ebola panic will be used to increase Obamacare open enrollment, which begins Nov. 15.

Company Fined for Illegally Dumping Aborted Babies Given Ebola Waste Disposal DOT Contract

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Friday that it would be granting a company with a dubious past special permission to haul away large-quantities of Ebola waste.
Ironically, that same company has a history of transporting aborted babies from abortion clinics.
The permit grants the Lake Forest, Illinois-based Stericycle permission to haul away large amounts of waste from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, where the first diagnosed Ebola patient in the U.S. is currently being treated, as well as other locations throughout Texas should the need arise.
DOT said in a statement that it will also offer Stericycle two different options for packaging:

Both options require a series of inner and outer packaging and the application of a CDC-authorized disinfectant to the inner packaging. The special permit also provides instructions for operation controls during transport, and requires the carrier to maintain a written spill response plan with guidelines for protecting employees and decontaminating any released material in the event of an accident.

While the government is giving Stericycle a lot of leeway for how to dispose of the Ebola-infected waste in Texas, the company has a history of improper disposal of medical waste.
The pro-life group Repent America at StopStericycle.com wrote that in 2011, Stericycle was fined for illegally dumping aborted remains into a landfill:

Stericycle was also fined over $42,000 in 2011 after the company was found to be illegally dumping aborted babies into a municipal landfill in Austin, Texas with household and commercial garbage. The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) found Stericycle liable for “failure to prevent the disposal of treated fetuses at a municipal solid waste landfill” and “failure to comply with permit conditions.”

Stericycle came under fire last April in Oregon after the county commission discovered that the remains of aborted babies had been fueling the local power plant.
The Marion County Board of Commissioners, which maintained the contract with Stericycle, cut the contract short over the issue once they were aware of the incident, reports Christian News.
Stericycle is not only under fire for its disposal of aborted babies, but it has also come under scrutiny just within the past two weeks for using an incinerator that's causing air pollution in Utah.

Meanwhile, Frederic Vincent, a spokesman for the European Commission, told CNN on Wednesday that there have been eight confirmed cases of Ebola in European countries. There is one case in the United Kingdom that has been treated and the person has recovered; one case in France like that; two cases in Germany in which patients are receiving treatment; and three cases in Spain: two deceased Spanish missionaries and a nurse’s assistant who is being treated.
There is also a case in which a Norwegian staffer with Doctors Without Borders is being treated, he said.
Also in Spain, health officials said four more potential Ebola cases — in addition to the nurse’s assistant — are under observation.

Even though it has already been demonstrated that Ebola can be brought over to the United States by a passenger on an airplane, Obama refuses to do anything that would even restrict air travel from nations where Ebola is spiraling out of control. Back in September, Obama said that it was “unlikely” that any individual with Ebola could get through the “extensive screening” at our airports and pose a threat to the general population. That has already happened. And yet the official White House position is that there is “no consideration of a travel ban” at this point.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy has declared a public health emergency for the state as a precaution during the Ebola epidemic that is affecting several countries in western Africa. Thousands of U.S. troops may be living in tent cities in Liberia and supporting the fight against Ebola for "about a year" or until the deadly outbreak appears to be under control, the top military commander in Africa said Tuesday.

"This is not a small effort and it's not a short period of time," Army Gen. David Rodriguez, the chief of U.S. Africa Command, told reporters at the Pentagon.

About 350 U.S. troops are now in West Africa and total deployments may reach 4,000 during the next several weeks. The size and scope of the mission has expanded from initial estimates in September, when officials said it would last about six months and require about 3,000 troops.

Pentagon officials emphasize that troops will not provide medical care or have direct contact with Ebola patients. The military mission is to support civilian health care efforts through construction of new facilities, providing logistics support and training locals in prevention methods.

Rodriguez said protocols for ensuring U.S. personnel do not contract the potentially deadly disease will include wearing gloves and masks but not complete full-body protective suits. They will wash their hands and feet multiple times a day. The FDA on Monday granted an emergency use application for an experimental treatment, brincidofovir, produced by North Carolina-based Chimerix, for use in patients with Ebola. Around 200 airport workers responsible for cleaning aircraft walked off the job today. The workers say airports are not keeping them safe from the possibility of infection. Gov. Malloy Signs Order Declaring Public Health Emergency Regarding Ebola

Tuesday, Oct. 7, Gov. Dannel Malloy signed an order that gives the Commissioner of the Department of Public Health the ability to effectively quarantine an individual or a group of individuals who may have been exposed to or infected with the Ebola virus.
The order is not being executed because a specific case has been identified, but rather as a precautionary and preparatory measure in the event that the state has either a confirmed infection or has confirmed that someone at risk of developing the infection is residing in the state.
“We are taking this action today to ensure that we are prepared, in advance, to deal with any identified cases in which someone has been exposed to the virus or, worst case, infected,” said Governor Malloy. “Our state’s hospitals have been preparing for it, and public health officials from the state are working around the clock to monitor the situation. Right now, we have no reason to think that anyone in the state is infected or at risk of infection. But it is essential to be prepared and we need to have the authorities in place that will allow us to move quickly to protect public health, if and when that becomes necessary. Signing this order will allow us to do that.”
By signing the order, the Governor is declaring a public health emergency, which gives the Commissioner of DPH the authority to quarantine and isolate individuals whom the commissioner reasonably believes has been exposed to the Ebola virus. Without the declaration, there is no statewide ability to isolate or quarantine – instead, the authority rests with each individual local public health director.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) also released a statement encouraging the House Committee on Appropriations, the Senate Armed Services Committee and the House Armed Services Committee to approve the White House’s request for $1 billion in funding to deal with the growing Ebola crisis.

“One thing we know about stopping pandemics is that time is of the essence. Ebola has taken thousands of lives in West Africa and decimated already weak public health systems in these countries; without immediate help and resources, this epidemic will continue to spread. This is a global threat, and the United States must lead the fight against it. Fear of contagion has led some to call for travel restrictions and further isolation of these countries, but withdrawal is not an option. We know that right now, travel restrictions won’t stop the spread of this disease, and may actually exacerbate the problems these countries face by preventing aid from reaching them. The whole-of-government plan outlined by President Obama—marshalling our military, health care, diplomatic, and economic resources to fight this epidemic—is exactly the right use of American power, and Congress should approve it without delay. Oversight by congressional defense committees must not hinder U.S. leadership in the fight against this public health nightmare.”

John Kerry’s Response to Ebola Death: “We Need Borders To Remain Open”

No, the headline above didn’t come from The Onion. (If only!) On Wednesday, Secretary of State John Kerry responded to the death of the Ebola patient in Dallas by affirming his support for open borders.

During a press conference at the State Department, today, Secretary of State John Kerry addressed the urgent need to contain the spread of Ebola in the wake of the first Ebola death in in the United States…Kerry made clear that travel restrictions would not be part of the administration’s strategy in fighting the deadly disease.
“We need airlines to continue to operate in West Africa, and we need borders to remain open,” said Kerry. “And we need to strengthen the medivac capacity. We need countries to contribute for Ebola treatment centers and we need other African countries with the capacity to send responders to join the effort and we need to make sure the health-care workers who go properly trained, properly equipped, and supported in order to prevent additional infections.”

Why do American airlines need to operate in Liberia, exactly? I’m no expert, but I think the American economy will survive if we temporarily ban travel to and from Ebola-ravaged areas of West Africa. How is the administration planning to “control” Ebola if they’re going to allow countless more Thomas Eric Duncans to fly into the country? Their only solution seems to be airport screenings, which have worked so well to prevent disasters in the past. September 11, 2001 comes to mind.
This is madness. At times like these, I really start to wonder whether liberalism is a suicidal cult bent on destroying America from the inside out.
