Obama meeting with CEOs at the White House

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama is meeting with business leaders at the White House to discuss the economy.

Among the eight CEOs meeting with the president are Ursula Burns, head of Xerox, and American Express Chairman Kenneth Chenault. The White House says the meeting will also focus on efforts to spur job creation and bring down the country's 9.1 percent unemployment rate.

Obama has occasionally met with business leaders to discuss the economy. Friday's meeting comes amid fresh concerns about the economy's stability amid gyrations in the financial markets and Standard & Poor's downgrade of the U.S. credit rating.

This is true. Small businesses can't do much good if people can't afford to pay their mortgages.
