YOU MIGHT BE AN EXTREMIST IF......

You want to have more control over your own money

You want to be involved and have more control over your children's education

You believe our borders and ports of entry should be secured

You believe that our Constitution is a real document to adhere to

You go to church and have political opinions

Believe that English is our national language and all business should be done in it

You rally or protest

You boycott businesses for their unfair practices in business and hiring

You own an American flag, and proudly display it

You view your nations heritage as good and believe it needs to be taught as history

You feel our government takes too much in taxes

You feel our government has a spending problem

You no longer ascribe to the two-party system

You believe you have a right to responsible gun ownership

You have the right to live as freely, off of government aid as possible

You believe "private property" means just that, and not public property, subject to eminent domain

You believe in a right to privacy

You are proud of your families heritage

and:

You believe that the government works for you, not you for them.......

No. If you think like the founding fathers and are involved with VIOLENT anti-government groups and activites, you are an extremist.

That's what it says. It does not label a patriot an extremist just because they are a patriot.

azwreath, I can agree they do mention violent, but truthfully, we have seen no violence coming out of any of the patriot groups we know of. The only times we are hearing stuff, it is isolated individuals, or apparently mentally ill people, but never linked with anyone, or any group we know of.

It is their attempt to garner support for their crusade from state, county and city police in this. They make the statement to report any and all activity, suspicious or criminal in nature. So we know police already deal with the criminal activity, but now they ask them to report anything "suspicious" to DHS or FBI...fine, but with such a broad brush being used to define people who should be watched, anyone of us could simply be reported for being in a rally, or online group, even if an indirect link was made to one person.

What has happened is just having that wording, lines people who are patriots, up as potential ones in DHS's eyes. No, none have yet done anything wrong, but all it will take is for one person, who had once posted here, or on any other "patriot" groups sites, and we all become "domestic extremists.

Although, you have to realize, once they begin this process, of systematically making broad and generalized statements, they will continue.

On Lou Dobbs tonight it said that DHS has recalled this document also, did I see that right? Anyone else seen mention of them recalling it?

Yes, I did see that. I think with it all being exposed in the media and on the internet, they decided the furry of Americans was more than they bargained for.

I think they realized that Americans do not fall for propaganda, there is more of us, than them.

I don't trust these so called "recalls of the definitions". They are still there, this is still their guidelines, make no mistake about that. NOW it will just be kept "top secret" info.
