    Edgar Serrato

GRAHAM — A 16-year-old Alamance County teen remains in jail today on charges that he raped an 11-year-old girl.

Edgar Serrato, of 1509 Apple Street Extension in Burlington, is in the Alamance County jail on a $75,000 bond. He was charged with first degree statutory rape, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

Serrato was arrested Wednesday. The charge came after the parents of the girl, whom the sheriff's office did not identify, filed a report with authorities.

The sheriff's office said the assault occurred at the victim's house in the northern part of the county. The sheriff's office did not specify an address or say when the alleged statutory rape took place.

Serrato is to appear in court at 2 p.m. today.

Still no reply to my emails asking about his immigration status. This IS Alamance County where the Sheriff's dept. has 287g. Doesn't mean the news will report the facts though.
