Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin went Glenn Beck one better after he asked viewers to invite a friend to watch his popular show on Fox cable TV: She posted a Facebook message urging all of her friends to tune in.

Glenn returned to his show Monday after a week's absence, earning this plaudit on Palin's Facebook page Wednesday: "FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House."

She noted Beck's exhortation Monday to invite a friend to watch, and added, “Tonight, I invite all my friends to watch."

The page tabulator Thursday showed that almost 9,000 of her supporters said they answered her call to watch "The Glenn Beck Program," while more than 1,800 had left comments.

Beck came under fire recently for saying that President Barack Obama and his administration that they are racist and consort with radicals and Communists.

A handful of sponsors subsequently pulled advertising from Beck's program despite an increase in ratings before the controversy and a steady hold on his audience since his return.

Viewership for Beck’s show averaged 2.25 million in August before his absence, up from July, when it averaged 2.05 million viewers, Fox News reports.

Palin's Facebook community, which she uses to keep in touch with supporters since stepping down recently as governor, reportedly consists of 800,000-plus followers.

The 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee resigned as governor with nearly a year-and-a-half left in her term, saying she wanted to focus on her family and to help other conservatives advance their agenda.
