Thread: POLICE: Machete-wielding tenant arrested

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Police say a Louisville man was running through an apartment complex chasing people with a machete Thursday evening.

The alleged incident took place shortly before 6:00 last night. According to an arrest report, 53-year-old Felipe Navarrete-De La Cruz was running through the apartment complex in the 700 block of McCawley Rd., near Preston Hwy.

Police were called to the scene, and met a witness (who was allegedly intoxicated) who told them that they were being chased by Navarrete-De La Cruz. When that witness pointed the suspect out to officers, the suspect saw them and ran behind the building.

Police eventually caught up with Navarrete-De La Cruz and began to interview him -- but they say he had "a strong odor of alcoholic beverage" and was "very unsteady" on his feet.

He eventually admitted to chasing tenants with a machete. He was charged with alcohol intoxication and disorderly conduct.
