Police name suspect in Vancouver shooting that left three men dead
By KATU Web Staff
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Vancouver police have named a suspect in a shooting that left three people dead and landed another in the hospital.
A murder warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Benjamin Vasquez-Salamanca. Police say he should be considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached.
Vasquez-Salamanca, who also goes by the names Benjermin Salamanca-Vazquez and Benjamin Salamanca, is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
In addition to the murder warrant, Vasquez-Salamanca has an outstanding dangerous drug warrant for his arrest out of Multnomah County.
The shooting that Vasquez-Salamanca has been linked to happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 9600 block of Northeast 21st Street in Vancouver.
When officers arrived, they found four men had been shot. Louise Infante-Ramirez, 25, and Cesar Nunez-Ortiz, 20, both died of their injuries, as did a third person whose name is being withheld pending notification of family.
A fourth person was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries. Police said they are withholding his name for investigative purposes.
If you know where Vasquez-Salamanca is, police urge you to call 911 immediately. Again, he is considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached.

Witness at scene of Thursday’s shooting cooperating, police say
Vancouver police are looking for a 27-year-old man, described as extremely dangerous, who allegedly shot and killed three men in a rental home in Vancouver’s Burton Ridge neighborhood.
An arrest warrant charging murder was issued Friday evening for Benjamin Vasquez-Salamanca.
He is the only known suspect in the murders, and also uses the names Benjermin Salamanca-Vazquez and Benjamin Salamanca. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
A drug-related warrant for his arrest was issued previously in Multnomah County, Ore.
Anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to not approach him and to call 911.
Police late Friday also identified two of the men killed: Luis Infante-Ramirez, 25, and Cesar Nuñez-Ortiz, 20.
The name of the third murder victim hadn’t been released Friday as officials sought to notify his family.
Police also withheld the name of a fourth man who was shot. That victim is hospitalized but expected to recover.
A fifth man who was in the house during the shooting — and allegedly tried to hide methamphetamine from police — is cooperating with the investigation as a witness.
Natanael M. Nuñez-Ortiz, 21, of Lacey made his first appearance Friday in Clark County Superior Court on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Fairgrieve said Nuñez-Ortiz was at 9612 N.E. 21st St., a rental property described in court papers as a drug house, when the shootings happened about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
Fairgrieve said one or more assailants came to the house, were let in and began shooting.
Nuñez-Ortiz, who was not injured in the shootings, is in the Clark County Jail on $250,000 bail. Superior Court Judge Barbara Johnson set the bail so high, Fairgrieve said, because Nuñez-Ortiz witnessed the shootings.
