IMO the past 40 years our public schools have worked to turn American kids into socialist workers, the idea being the less educated the easier to control....
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

At this point in time they did this to make minorities look like rocket scientists

No way any kid today could cut it in the schools we went to in the 60s and 70s

No feel good touchy feely , no diversity BS , no chicano studies , no Esl

Besides the normal stuff , I learned to type in the 4th grade, we learned how to read power meters , Long division in the second grade (no calculators back then)

If you got in trouble at school you could count on getting your butt kicked by your parents.

Right whole different education system today isn't it???

We also need to get rid of the Dept of Ed. and bring the tax dollars, and the schools back to being run in our own States. This giving our tax dollars to Washington and holding our hand out for a return is got to go...

I know public highschools and quite a few at that who are passing kids who can't read or write. In 10th grade I transfered from a private school to a public (Mother got cheap), to me it felt like 3rd-5th grade all over again.

Its time to remove more public schools and move towards charter schools where the city pays a private school business to function. The city only has rights to push basic subject lists. Charter schools are already showing they can do it cheaper with better results.

Still another good idea with Charter schools imo is school uniforms. I always like the idea of students in school uniforms as a requirement. Helps bridge that gap between students.
