Report: Oprah Made $12 Million For One Tweet About Bread For Weight Watchers

Oprah Winfrey reportedly earned $12 million for one tweet that promoted a video (below) about eating bread, for Weight Watchers, on Jan. 26.

In the tweeted video, Winfrey gushes, "This is the joy for me! I love bread. love bread. I now just manage it. So, I don't deny myself bread. I have bread every day. I have bread every day. That's the genius of this program! I lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day," US Weekly reports.

Winfrey wrote in her tweet: "Eat bread. Lose weight. Whaaatttt? #ComeJoinMe."

According to MarketWatch, Winfrey owns almost 6.4 million shares of Weight Watchers, which is about 10 percent. After she tweeted, the stock price went up more than 16 percent over the next hour.

Since she spent $43 million on her shares in October 2015, the weight-loss company's shares have gone up almost 100 percent.

The stock is still about 20 percent below where it was this time in 2015.
