They are grinding up plastic and trash and feeding it to pigs and other livestock. A whistleblower, Emmanuel Moore, got fired from his job for his Tik-Tok viral videos exposing the the disgusting practice known as "garbage feeding."
Last year, a peek into how the sausage literally gets made here shocked many.
The jolt was delivered by a North Carolina man named Emmanuel Moore who, until his firing, worked as a maintenance technician at a grain elevator in Wilson, located about an hour east of Raleigh. The facility manufactures pig feed and is run by Smithfield Foods, a Chinese-owned entity that's the largest pork producer in the United States.
As a maintenance technician, or millwright, Moore said he was privy to each step of the production process. At 29, he said he was earning $27-an-hour and that he mostly enjoyed his job.
But one thing at the facility bothered him: Moore alleged the final feed contained plastic.
“They're feeding America, and like morally, I didn't feel right not saying something,” he said.
With an iPhone, Moore took videos of the production process and posted them to TikTok where they quickly went viral.
Going viral on TikTok
The first TikTok, posted on June 24, showed heaps of still-wrapped bread products rising up a conveyor belt. Another, viewed 4.1 million times, purported to show chunks of plastic in the feed Moore cupped in his hand. His most-watched TikTok, with 23.5 million views and countless reposts, features another shot of plastic tangled in the machinery.
The caption over this video read: “They fired me today for spreading the truth should I post everything.”
Smithfield Foods representatives said they wouldn’t comment on personnel decisions, but that the company, which is headquartered in Virginia and owned by the Chinese corporation WH Group, does manufacture some of its feed from unused bread and baked good products (think hot dog buns and loaves of bread) that often arrive wrapped in plastic.
However, Smithfield officials insist their production process adequately removes this plastic from the final feed.
“What you don't see in that video are vacuums that remove the packaging, the plastic,” said Jim Monroe, a vice president of corporate affairs at Smithfield Foods. “We've got specialized equipment that does that. It removes the plastics and other packaging from the baked goods.”
Monroe summarized the TikToks as "misleading."
Asked if the vacuums catch all the plastic materials, Emmanuel Moore responded via Facebook messenger: “No lol the vacs do not get all the trash and particles out. They are lying. I fixed them daily and unclogged the lines daily.”

Tributes have been paid to a veteran boxer who died suddenly while taking part in a charity event.
Jules Bevis, in his 50s, became unwell at the event in Diamond Road, Norwich, just after 15:45 BST on Sunday, and died at the scene.
About 30 boxers were at the Fighting for Kayla event which was raising money for a four-year-old girl with cancer.
Mr Bevis's niece, the wrestler Saraya-Jade "Paige" Bevis, tweeted: "Up until the end he had a heart of gold."
Mr Bevis described himself on social media as a "Tottenham fan and correspondent"
Paige, who was originally from Norwich and became a WWE professional wrestler, wrote of her uncle: "He was doing a charity boxing match at my dads wrestling PC raising money for a little girl for her cancer treatments."
She said he collapsed in the ring and died "in my brother Roy's arms".

The ambulance service was called to the event at the World Association of Wrestling (WAW) Performance Centre on Sunday afternoon, but despite medical treatment Mr Bevis was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time of his death, Mr Bevis had been taking part in the charity event in order to raise money for Norwich girl Kayla Buttle, who has neuroblastoma cancer.
Her family is trying to raise £185,000 to send her to the US for potentially life-saving treatment.
On its website, the World Association of Wrestling said the event would be "bringing back some of Norfolk's favourite fighters from yesteryear to put on a boxing show for Kayla".
Mr Bevis's brother, and father of wrestler Saraya-Jade Bevis, Ricky Knight, paid tribute in an emotional video posted on Facebook.
He thanked people "from around the world in reference to my brother Jules".
He said the family was "in shock" and "can't understand what's happened".
'No big punches'
However, he said he "needs to get it out there" that "it was not boxing that killed my brother last night".
"Believe me, the whole show was about sparring sessions between ex-boxers to raise money for a little girl... who needs help with cancer. And all the ex-boxers came out of retirement just to put on a show," he said.
"There were no big punches, nothing. It was my brother's time.
"He collapsed... and as far as I was concerned he was gone when he hit the floor."
He praised the work of medics and others in the audience who tried to save his brother.
"I can't thank them enough, said Mr Knight.
"We don't know what it was, but we think it could have been a heart attack.
"He gave his life to help someone else."
Mr Bevis's friend Spencer Hood, pictured with wife Kerry, said the boxer would "do anything for anyone"
Mr Bevis was well-known on social media as Jules Tottenham Bevis, tweeting and writing about "my beloved Tottenham Hotspur".
He worked as a lorry driver and also as a chauffeur.
Two days before the boxing match, freight distribution company The Pallet Network, took to Twitter to say: "Bacton Transport driver, Jules Bevis is coming out of boxing retirement at the age of 56, for a charity event in Norwich on Sunday 2nd October."
Mr Bevis's long-time friend, Spencer Hood, said Mr Bevis used to coach and box in Norwich with names such as heavyweight fighter Herbie Hide.
"He was a jab master; you couldn't get near him; he was such a good boxer," he recalled.
"Everyone who met him says he was just such a nice person... he'll do anything for anyone; you can't get a better person."
He said there were about 700 spectators at Sunday's event, and since then he "must have had 200 messages from people saying 'we're really sorry'".
"The only good thing you can say out of this is that he died doing something he absolutely loved - which is helping people or raising money for charity - and boxing," he said.

PRESSTITUTES "BAFFLED" AFTER COP DROPS DEAD DURING ROUTINE TRAINING
ARLINGTON, Texas - A seemingly healthy Arlington police recruit died suddenly while training over the weekend.
The 40-year-old's widow is left baffled at what may have caused his death.
Marquis Kennedy’s widow believes he was healthy. He was just 40 years old. He had to pass a physical to get into the academy. Right now, they’re trying to figure out what caused his death.
Brittney Kennedy is asking why her husband died during a training exercise over the weekend.
"We have and are asking the Arlington Police Department to be transparent with us and to answer the biggest question of them all," she said.
Arlington PD says Marquis had been training to be one of their officers since July 25 and never reported issues until Friday.
"I can tell you our department is hurting," said Arlington Police Sgt. Courtney White. "Our recruits and our training center is hurting."
Marquis was taking part in a real-life training scenario on how to defend against someone attacking them. The department says an instructor was playing the role of attacker.
"During the training, Recruit Kennedy indicated that he was not feeling well, and he was told to sit with a member of training staff," White said. "While doing so, he was being monitored. A short time later, he collapsed. Training staff immediately began CPR and continued to do so until EMS arrived and transported him to a local hospital."
Arlington PD says Marquis was pronounced dead Sunday morning. A cause of death wasn’t immediately known.
The department says all recruits have to pass a medical examination as well as a physical fitness test comprised of rowing to be accepted into the program.
Brittney’s widow believes he was in good shape.
"They do see a medical doctor outside of Arlington PD that tests their medical ability," she said.
Brittney is devastated that Marquis, who leaves behind a 1-year-old son, died while training for his dream job.
"He was driven by being and getting through this academy," she said.
The department says this was not the first physically demanding test Marquis went through since he became a recruit officer in July. Training typically goes for six to eight months.

Regan Laine Lewis, 20, of Grinnell, KS, died Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Kearney Regional Medical Center, in Kearney, NE.
Regan was good at caring for people, which lead her to pursue a career in nursing. Regan worked her way up from a CNA to a CMA, and then in May of 2022, became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Colby Health and Rehab and was continuing her studies at Colby Community College to receive her Associates Degree in Nursing and become a Registered Nurse.

THE SUDDEN DEATH of 32-year-old Triangle of Sadness actress Charlbi Dean on Monday triggered a flood of shock, sadness, heartfelt condolences — and some absurd medical claims that her brother disputed Wednesday in an interview with Rolling Stone.
Speaking by phone from Cape Town, South Africa, Alex Jacobs says Dean was an incredible person on the cusp of her breakout moment The actress’ death at a New York hospital this week has stunned everyone who knew her.
So many questions still need answers, but one thing he feels sure about is that the flurry of online comments claiming Dean’s death was linked to Covid vaccines — messages he has seen and read himself — are not helpful.
“That is completely out of the question, from our point of view,” he tells Rolling Stone. “That’s not the first bandwagon you need to jump on. I think that’s completely ridiculous and extremely naïve.”
According to Jacobs, Dean was staying in New York with her fiancé, Luke Volker, when she started experiencing some “minor” symptoms that concerned her enough asked Volker to go with her to an emergency room. She then died in a matter of hours, Jacobs says, with the exact cause of her death still pending an autopsy that was underway Wednesday.

“This happened literally within the span of a day: getting a headache, going to sleep, waking up her boyfriend and saying please take me to the hospital,” Jacobs, 21, tells Rolling Stone.
“We still aren’t entirely sure (what happened). There’s an autopsy being done which we know might take quite a while. But what we have heard it that there was a viral infection in her lungs,” he says.
He adds that his sister was in a “very, very bad car accident” around 2009 that left her with a broken back, broken ribs and a missing spleen.
“They removed her spleen. It’s involved in fighting off infections, and that could have had something to do what happened. Her spleen not being there just added on to the reason whey she perhaps couldn’t fight it off,” he says.
The law student says his family is devastated by the loss.
“She was extremely caring and extremely loving, more than anyone I could have ever known. She reminded us every day how much she loved us. She spoke to my mom every single day of her life. If the call ended, she’d call her back immediately and say I didn’t get to say goodbye to you,” he says.
“This is quite shocking for us right now, having something like that happen. She was really the glue that kept us together,” he says, adding that he’s particularly worried about Volker.
“We love him so much,” he says. “I can’t imagine what it would have been like, being there. My mom’s biggest worry was that she was going to die alone. He was with her, as close as he could be.”
Jacobs says his sister was thrilled when Triangle of Sadness recently won the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
“She was so, so stoked about it, and we were really happy to support her,” he says. “It was incredible seeing her succeed.”
Along with Triangle of Sadness, the actress also was known for her recurring role in CW’s superhero series Black Lightning.
Born and raised in South Africa, Dean and her costars made headlines when Triangle of Sadness received an eight-minute standing ovation at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival before taking home the top prize.

Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Kimberly Gladys Diane Kemp, announce her passing, which occurred unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 26th, 2022. Born 1983, in Saint John, she is the daughter of Dennis Kemp and the late Deborah (Farnham) Kemp. Kim worked in retail but spent the last two years home with her children. She enjoyed swimming, music, and the occasional trip. Old Orchard Beach and New York City were two of her favorite destinations as she often traveled with her friends and family. She adored her children; they were her pride and joy. Kim will be missed by all who knew her.
Along with her father, Kim is survived by her children Declan, Xavier and Lily; her partner Jason Thibodeau of Saint John; brother Patrick Kemp of Quispamsis; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, March 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, March 5th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Cason was the first child born to Sherry and Doug on September 14, 1989, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. As a child, Cason loved all sports, especially hockey, soccer, track & field and cross country running. And he was fast! This led to his passion for completing marathons, triathlons and Ironman competitions. Cason loved school and always gave 1000 %. This led him towards the University of Western Ontario and Dr. Joseph Mymryk. Here Cason obtained his PhD. in microbiology and immunology -graduating with distinction in 2018. Cason immediately joined Dr. Andrew Mehle’s lab at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, as a post doctoral fellow, thus furthering his research in medical microbiology and immunology.
Cason loved to travel, especially with his love, Eva. Together they visited Guatemala, Madeira Island, many many European countries and numerous Canadian and American cities.
Cason was a gifted public speaker. Dr. Mymryk explained to Cason’s parents that he was the only student to win the RGE Murray Seminar Award, 4 consecutive years, for delivering the best presentation in a graduate seminar course - an accomplishment never done before. Cason’s PhD. thesis, “Functional and Structural Mimicry of A-Kinase Anchoring Proteins by Human Adenovirus E1A”, was so well written, that it needed no corrections. In Dr. Mymryk’s career, he tells us that he has never seen a PhD. thesis that required no revisions. Cason’s expertise in science and language, led to his publishing of 11 scientific papers, with another one being currently considered for a major scientific journal - a very strong contribution to the scientific world in just a few short years.
While working in Dr. Mehle’s lab, Cason developed a high, risk-high reward project to create novel ways to dissect how influenza virus interacts with the cells it infects. In essence, Cason changed the way the science field thinks about cellular response to influenza virus infection. Using this project, Cason obtained the highly competitive and prestigious Open Philanthropy Fellowship from the Life Sciences Research Foundation. The Foundation clearly recognized the exceptional potential in Cason and his research. Cason enriched the lives of so many, guiding and shaping his friends’ careers, mentoring young scientists both at Western University and the University of Wisconsin and volunteering his expertise and time both in the lab and at numerous national and international conferences.
Cason’s love for sports, travel and science is only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Cason’s mom and dad, Sherry & Doug, brother Bryn, sister-in-law, Kara, and nephew, Kaidan, grandmother, Denise, and partner, Eva, will miss him dearly.
Cason and Eva were life partners. They shared a uniquely special bond, loving each other incredibly deeply and honestly. Their presence in each other’s lives was what kept them grounded through the highs and lows of life - whether this involved talking about their days over Skype or the long awaited and much treasured in-person visits. Together they shared a bright future. They had exciting plans for a life together, which was an incredible motivator for them both. Cason was the most caring, supportive, hilarious, charming, selfless partner to Eva and his passing leaves an unfillable void.
Cason’s beloved black lab, Kessel, will surely miss his best buddy and the special bond that exists between a boy and his dog.
Cason was a runner. He knew that winning doesn’t always mean getting first place. It means getting the best out of yourself. One of Cason’s greatest joys was completing the race and inspiring others to perform at their best. We’re so sorry, Cason, that you did not finish your race here on earth. We love you dearly and you are leaving us with an emptiness that is beyond words......you are our pride and joy.....forever our loving, strong, passionate, courageous and beautiful son.

hospitalized. My troponin levels have been seriously
elevated, and I also have a reduced ejection fraction
as well as an arrhythmia. My mom is now with me. I
will be transported to Rome tomorrow to receive a
cardiac MRI. If y'all could keep me and my family in
your prayers as we navigate this difficult situation
and figure out what's going on with me, I would
sincerely appreciate it!

CRY BABY CRIMINAL GETS HIS ARM SHOT OFF BY 80-YEAR-OLD PARTY STORE OWNER
NORCO, Calif. - The owner of a store that was targeted by would-be robbers turned the tables on one of the suspects by opening fire on him in Norco.
Authorities said that at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, four male suspects in a black BMW SUV attempted to rob Norco Market & Liquor, located in the 2800 block of Clark Avenue.
Surveillance video obtained by FOX 11 shows a male suspect wearing a red and black sweatshirt and a ski mask entering the store before he points a rifle at the store owner who was behind the counter. Noticing that the man entering the store was armed and wearing a mask, the 80-year-old store owner swiftly grabbed a shotgun from underneath the counter and opened fire on the suspect. The suspect is then seen fleeing the store.

The owner of Norco Market & Liquor didn't hesitate to open fire on a male suspect who walked into the store armed with a rifle.
As the suspect ran out of the store, surveillance video from outside the establishment showed a second suspect inside the black SUV exiting the vehicle, also armed. On their way back to the getaway car, the suspect is heard shouting, "He shot my arm off."
After noticing the first suspect running from the scene, both suspects got back into the vehicle and drove away.
A second armed suspect fled the scene after the Norco store owner opened fire on the would-be robbers.
The suspects were located at a Southern California hospital, one of whom was suffering from a gunshot wound consistent with a shotgun blast, authorities said. Three additional suspects were also located at the hospital in the suspect vehicle, which had been previously reported stolen. The BMW SUV was also found to contain numerous stolen firearms.
Justin Johnson, 22, of Inglewood, Jamar Williams, 27, of Los Angeles, and Davon Broadus, 24, of Las Vegas, were each taken into custody in the hospital parking lot and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for robbery and conspiracy. They are being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
The primary suspect, a 23-year-old male, remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition, and his identity has not been released at this time. He will be booked into a Riverside County jail upon his release from the hospital, authorities said.
"In this case, a lawfully armed member of our community prevented a violent crime and ensured their own safety, while being confronted with multiple armed suspects," deputies wrote in a press release.

Remembered as tenacious and an immense talent, rising Vancouver recording star Olivia Quan has died at 25
The Vancouver music community is mourning the passing of recording engineer and producer Olivia Quan. The death has been reported by Monarch Studios, where the Juno-nominated West Coaster had worked since 2016.
Quan passed away July 1 at the age of 25. No cause of death has been given.
In a post on its web site, Monarch described Quan as a tenacious talent dedicated to the art of blending analog and digital recordings.
“Olivia was a huge part of our family at Monarch,” the post reads, “and the loss of her immense talent, energy, and generosity will be felt by the enormous community of people that had the opportunity to collaborate and learn with her. May her spirit live on in all of our hearts.”
Over the course of her career Quan worked with such artists as Hey Ocean!, City & Colour, Sam Lynch, Amanda Sum, and Said the Whale.
She received Juno nominations this year for her work with Desirée Dawson, Luca Fogale, and Matthew V.
Monarch noted that the Vancouver music community will get the chance to share their memories of Quan at a celebration of life to be announced in the coming days.

REAL HERO SAVES CHILD FROM FALLING OFF BUILDING TO CERTAIN DEATH
Incredible footage has captured the moment a man climbed out of his eighth storey apartment window in Kazakhstan to catch a helpless three-year-old girl.
The toddler, who was reportedly alone at home at the time, was hanging by the window ledge above a 30 metre drop.
That's when her neighbour on the floor below, identified as Shontakbaev Sabit, stepped out of his window and tugged her right leg, telling her to let go.
Mr Sabit swiftly catches her, finds his balance and hands her over to someone waiting by his window. Watch the complete rescue below.
The rescue – which took a minute to complete – happened in the country‘s capital Nur-Sultan on Wednesday.
It‘s understood locals called the emergency services who told them they would not be able to reach the young girl in time, which prompted Sabit to bravely act.
Kazakhstan‘s ministry of emergency situations has named Sabit a hero and awarded him a medal for the speedy rescue which saved the toddler’s life.
“On 11th May at 10.21am, a message was received that a child was hanging from a window on Uly Dala Street 27/1 on the eighth floor,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Subdivisions of the Department of Emergency Situations of the city of Nur-Sultan, consisting of 7 personnel and 2 vehicles, were promptly sent to the scene.”
By the time they arrived, Sabit had already saved the youngster.
“No one was with the girl, born in 2019. Fortunately, our hero Shontakbaev Sabit, born in 1985, seeing the hanging, crying child, without hesitation and risking his own life, took emergency action and literally caught and saved the little girl’s life in a matter of seconds,” the ministry said.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused profound social and economic upheaval. COVID-19 vaccines promise to prevent infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, due to their expedited approval, these vaccines need to be vigilantly monitored for their safety. Cases of Bell’s palsy have also been reported after COVID-19 vaccine injection. In two phase III trials of COVID-19 vaccines involving around 38 000 patients, there were seven cases of Bell’s palsy after vaccine compared with one case after receiving placebo.1 2 As the p value was 0.07 and this was a post hoc analysis, no definite association could be inferred.
We recently diagnosed Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) in a 37-year-old previously healthy man. Two days after his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2) vaccine, he noticed fever and a pain in the right ear. Vesicles were then developed in his right ear and canal, together with vertigo, tinnitus and loss of hearing. He complained of facial palsy, tongue numbness and dysgeusia. On examination, he had grade 4 right facial nerve palsy of the lower motor neuron type with right sensorineural hearing loss (figure 1A). There were no other neurological deficits. Vesicles with serous discharge were found over the right concha and external auditory canal (figure 1B). A swab of the exudate was positive for varicella-zoster DNA on PCR, while throat saliva was negative for SARS-COV-2. A CT scan of the brain was normal. The diagnosis was RHS leading to peripheral facial nerve palsy, vestibulocochlear neuropathy and glossopharyngeal somatic sensory neuropathy. As his symptoms developed 2 days after vaccination, we suspected the vaccination triggered RHS. This would be the first reported case of RHS after COVID-19 vaccination.
Bell’s palsy is the most common cause of an acute onset peripheral facial palsy. Some cases were attributed to the reactivation of herpes-simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). The former is always underdiagnosed. However, the blisters of herpes zoster (HZ) allow a diagnosis to be made clinically. Reactivation of the VZV at the facial nerve leads to RHS type 2 (herpes-zoster oticus). However, there are also cases where RHS may manifest without the skin lesions such that it cannot be differentiated from Bell’s palsy without PCR or antibody titre testing.3
HZ is associated with COVID-19 vaccination. The US Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reported 232 HZ-related adverse events among COVID-19 vaccines among 1653 reports of vaccine-related complications since July 1990. All reported cases so far affected other dermatomes.4 VZV-specific CD8 cells may be temporarily incapable of controlling the VZV after the massive shift of naive CD8+ cells to produce vaccine-targeting CD8+ cells.4 The vaccine may also dampen the innate immunity responsible for controlling VZV.5 Therefore, vaccine-related immunomodulation may be responsible for the RHS after vaccination.
RHS is rare for patients under 60 years old with no previous history of HZ. Therefore, COVID-19 vaccination was likely to be the stress causing reactivation of VZV. What we have described is rare, and may be the missing link between COVID-19 vaccination and Bell’s palsy, providing a plausible explanation for the facial palsy.

Conservatives on Twitter expressed their utter shock and confusion at a viral clip taken from a Congressional hearing on abortion Wednesday in which an abortion activist told Congress that yes, men can get pregnant and have abortions.
The clip was taken from a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the topic of "Abortion Access and Care" and featured pro-abortion advocate Aimee Arrambide, executive director of the abortion rights nonprofit Avow Texas, answering questions from Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C.
During the exchange, the lawmaker asked Arrambide, "What do you say a woman is?"
The activist answered, with a progressive talking point. "I believe that everyone can identify for themselves," she said.
Bishop then followed up by asking, "Do you believe then that men can become pregnant and have abortions?"
Arrambide didn’t skip a beat, confidently answering, "Yes."
Many on Twitter were perplexed by this radical update to existing human biology, and either denounced or mocked it.

Objectives
Development of safe and effective vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains the cornerstone of controlling this pandemic. However, there are increasing reports of various types of stroke including ischemic stroke, and hemorrhagic stroke, as well as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) after COVID-19 vaccination. This paper aims to review reports of stroke associated with COVID-19 vaccines and provide a coherent clinical picture of this condition.
Materials and methods
A literature review was performed with a focus on data from recent studies.
Results
Most of such patients are women under 60 years of age and who had received ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine. Most studies reported CVST with or without secondary ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, and some with Vaccine-induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (VITT). The most common clinical symptom of CVST seen after COVID-19 vaccination was headache. The clinical course of CVST after COVID-19 vaccination may be more severe than CVST not associated with COVID vaccination. Management of CVST following COVID-19 vaccination is challenging and may differ from the standard treatment of CVST. Low molecular weight heparin is commonly used in the treatment of CVST; however, it may worsen outcomes in CVST associated with VITT. Furthermore, administration of intravenous immunoglobulin and high-dose glucocorticoids have been recommended with various success rates.
Conclusion
These contradictory observations are a source of confusion in clinical decision-making and warrant further study and development of clinical guidelines. Clinicians should be aware of clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of stroke associated with COVID-19 vaccination.
Many recent studies reported the occurrence of stroke after administration of COVID-19 vaccination. All forms of stroke including ischemic, ICH, and CVST have been encountered. Most of the evidence pertaining to stroke following COVID-19 vaccination are case reports, therefore, the incidence of stroke after COVID-19 vaccination is not precisely known. Most patients who suffered from stroke after COVID-19 vaccination were women, under 60 years of age, and after the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine.
Clinicians should be aware of the possible stroke after COVID-19 vaccination to ensure rapid diagnosis and treatment. CVST is an important phenomenon that may occur after COVID-19 vaccination and is mostly associated with VITT. The diagnosis of VITT-associated stroke should be made with high suspicion because of its rapid and diverse clinical manifestations. Stroke should be considered when a patient develops any neurological complaints, especially constant headaches, within 4 weeks of COVID-19 vaccination. These patients should urgently be evaluated for possible VITT with laboratory tests such as platelet count, D-dimer, anti-PF4 antibody, fibrinogen level, and brain imaging, especially cerebral venography. Concurrent thrombosis including DVT, PTE, and splanchnic venous thrombosis should be ruled out in patients who suffered from VITT-associated CVST. Furthermore, other differential diagnoses including APS, DIC, ITP, thrombotic-thrombocytopenic purpura, atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, and underlying malignant diseases should be taken into account. Notably, the latest guidelines should be considered for VITT management; however, clinicians should eventually act according to the specific condition of each patient. Since the management of VITT is challenging, they should be managed by a multidisciplinary team from different disciplines including hematology, neurology, stroke, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology.
Finally, since the advantages of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh the risk of stroke or any other neurological complication, the public should be reassured that the vaccination program is still the best way to combat COVID-19.

My partner and I where overjoyed when we found out we where expecting in October last year. It was going to be our first child. We both live and work in central Queensland in the mines. I am an Electrician and my partner is a Fitter. When I was just 5 weeks pregnant, my employer (one of the largest mining companies in Aus) announced that they where mandating the • as a requirement for site entry. Facing the prospect of possibly losing my job if I didn't get ••,, I went and spoke to 2 different GPs about what we could do. Both stated that • •, was safe and recommended for pregnant women, and due to ATAGI guidelines, they where unable to give me an exemption for . Still very unsure, but putting my trust in my medical professionals, we believe that I didn't have any other option then to get the Gt. Our doctors were pushing it, I was the highest income earner in our house and my job also provided us our house.
I had the dream first trimester. I was working full time, and ran my own business on my days off. I had no morning sickness, tiredness or anything. Our son (who we named 011ie), his genetic testing was perfect, he was measuring great, things where awesome. I had my first shot of 12 on the 10th of November 2021 and had a mild fever and arm soreness and that was it. On the • I) we had our Nuchal Translucency scan at 12w5d. 011ie was measuring perfectly and even had the hiccups during our scan. Everything looked great. That same afternoon, I had my second dose of . I experienced similar side effects to my first dose.
A few weeks later, over Christmas and New Years, I started to worry as I wasn't experiencing any pregnancy symptoms. On the 4th of January 2022 we presented to the hospital but because I was in good health and didn't display any outward symptoms of miscarriage, we were made to wait 7 hours for someone to form an ultrasound to find out our sweet boy no longer had a heart beat. The doctors were remorseful in that they didn't attend to us sooner. Based on 011ie's measurements, the doctors believed he had died almost immediately after our last scan. He had been dead inside me for nearly 4 weeks and my body had no idea.
On the 10th of January, we presented to the hospital where they put me on medication to start labour so I could deliver my dead son and send him away for an autopsy. We mentioned a number of times to the doctors that I had my the days before they believe he had died but we were brushed off and they weren't willing to entertain the idea of that being any possibility. I brought copies of our scans, all my blood work and offered to have that accompany him to assist with the autopsy and was told they didn't need it. A week later, we received a call saying they now needed this information. I reported it to the TGA: AU-TGA-0000695119
At the hospital, they indicated to us that it would be a couple of weeks before we could expect his body to be returned to us and potentially 3 months before the report would be ready. I called at 3 and a half weeks and was told it could be up to 3 weeks because of 1 delays for the body. I called at 4 weeks and was told maybe by 5 weeks. And then they called me and said it probably would be until at least 6 weeks that we would get his body back, but the lab could provide NO EXPLANATION as to why the delay was so long.
I felt like we were getting the run around. I wanted to wait until we had his autopsy before I was going to share our story, but I didn't want any other family 's to suffer what we have gone through. I don't know if we will ever get the real answer as to what it was that caused his death. I felt backed into a corner with losing my job and our house, trusting my doctors who insisted I would be in more danger if I didn't get it. We now need to live with the what if's for the rest of our lives.
