    POTUS Bans Transgender People From Serving In The U.S. Military

    Joshua Caplan

    Jul 26th, 2017 8:23 am

    President Trump announced Wednesday morning transgender people will no longer be allowed to serve in the United States military.

    President Trump:

    After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you

    In a recent memo, Secretary of Defense James Mattis called for a six-month delay of transgender recruitment to the U.S. military.

    Guardian reports:

    Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White said Mattis made the decision on Friday. The delay in allowing the enlistment of new recruits does not affect transgender troops who are already serving openly in the military.

    Mattis said in a memo obtained by The Associated Press: “After consulting with the service chiefs and secretaries, I have determined that it is necessary to defer the start of accessions for six months. We will use this additional time to evaluate more carefully the impact of such accessions on readiness and lethality.”

    In the memo, Mattis said he believed the department must measure “each policy decision against one standard” — whether it affects the readiness of the military to defend the nation.

    Mattis’s decision formally endorses an agreement hammered out last week by the leaders of the four military services, which rejected army and air force requests for a two-year wait. And it reflects the broader worry that a longer delay would trigger criticism on Capitol Hill, officials familiar with the talks said.

    I figured this was going to happen. General Mattis never did support the Obama administrations position on transgenders in the military.

    President Trump’s decision to ban transgenders from serving in the U.S. military has created a firestorm across the country. J.R. Salzman, an amputee Iraq War veteran, took to Twitter to defend the decision and the thread is going viral.

    Trump bans transgenders in U.S. military

    Posted By Bob Unruh On 07/26/2017

    One of the most shocking and potentially destructive orders from former President Barack Obama – opening up the U.S. military to transgender individuals – Wednesday was reversed by President Donald Trump.

    The Obama decision, if left unchanged, would have forced U.S. soldiers to work under the most intense, life-endangering conditions alongside gender confused individuals undergoing a variety of treatments and put American taxpayers on the hook for what could have been hundreds of millions of dollars in medical procedures.
    Critics had pointed out that transgenders may have been unable to fulfill their military obligations under any circumstances because of ongoing medical treatment they would require.

    Trump said enough was enough. On Twitter, he said, “After consultation with my generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgenders in the military would entail.”

    The door opened by Obama was just one of his efforts to focus the nation’s military on social experiments. He also had his defense secretary, Ash Carter, open all combat roles to women and named the first openly homosexual Army secretary.

    The New York Times reported the announcement at this time may have been linked to money.

    “The president’s announcement came amid a debate on Capitol Hill over the Obama-era practice of requiring the Pentagon to pay for medical treatment related to gender transition. The dispute has unfolded as Congress considers a nearly $700 billion spending bill to fund the Pentagon. Representative Vicky Hartzler, Republican of Missouri, has proposed an amendment that would bar the Pentagon from spending money on transition surgery or related hormone therapy,” the report said.

    It’s not the first pro-LGBT advocacy position Obama had created in the U.S. that has fallen. Trump also reversed a mandate from Obama that public schools open their girls restrooms and showers to boys, and vice versa. Critics of the Trump administration also complained he did not recognize LGBT Pride in June.

    The Washington Post pointed out that activists for such social agendas in the military were unhappy.

    The paper reported Richard Socarides, a longtime “gay” advocate who advised President Bill Clinton on homosexuals in uniform, called Trump’s decision “a tragic betrayal of all LGBT Americans and a shameful effort to win over social conservatives at the expense of the vulnerable.”

    The announcement from the president came just two weeks after the House rejected an amendment to a defense policy bill that would have blocked the Pentagon from offering gender transition therapies to active duty service members.

    But there had been a move already to delay implementation of Obama’s full transgender agenda.
    Earlier this month it was announced the Pentagon had delayed its social-engineering plan to allow newly enlisted transgendered people in the ranks.

    The Family Research Council said at the time of the decision by Defense Secretary James Mattis that it was right, because the agenda “directly undermines unit readiness as well as religious and conscience objections.”
    The new deadline for the policy had been set then for Jan. 1, 2018.

    The plan that was halted would have allowed incoming service members identifying as “transgender” to enlist if they have been “stable” in their gender identity for 18 months.

    Retired Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin, Family Research Council’s executive vice president, warned then personnel who identify as transgender would be getting exceptions to policies and medical requirements that their peers will still be required to meet.

    “These exceptions may be applied to policies about everything from physical and mental fitness standards to dress and presentation standards, and they create an unfairness that will undermine unit cohesion and morale,” he said.

    Recent polling showed only 23 percent of Americans thought the military should start enlisting transgenders, as Obama had demanded.

    Mattis, who had lobbied for a delay, issued a statement just before the deadline.

    “Since becoming the secretary of defense, I have emphasized that the Department of Defense must measure each policy decision against one critical standard: Will the decision affect the readiness and lethality of the force? Put another way, how will the decision affect the ability of America’s military to defend the nation? It is against this standard that I provide the following guidance on the way forward in accessing transgender individuals into the military services.”

    It was the House that bizarrely voted not to prevent taxpayer funds from being used for sex changes and hormone therapies for soldiers.

    Two dozen Republicans joined all Democrats in the recent vote, which now may be moot.

    It was an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018 that would have banned Pentagon funding of surgeries for transgenders in the U.S. military that failed to pass the House by a vote of 209-214.

    Before March 2015, a transgender would have been summarily discharged from service based solely on the fact that he/she was confused about their gender. Gender dysphoria has always been considered by the American Psychiatric Association as a psychological condition.
    But under Obama that changed. The U.S. military not only allowed transgenders to enlist but it began recruiting them.

    It was a recently released CMR Special Report from Elaine Donnelly, of the Center for Military Readiness, that revealed the absurd and sometimes bizarre plans incorporated in Obama administration transgender mandates.

    The 27-page CMR Special Report discloses and provides links to 15 Defense Department and military service directives that are based on politically correct beliefs that defy science and common sense. These expendable administrative directives, written in consultation with LGBT activist groups and like-minded contractors such as RAND, deserve serious congressional review, measured against requirements of military readiness, Donnelly said.
    “Social experiments with the lives of people who deserve better will create many problems that detract from impacts on morale and readiness,” she said.

    She provided the following examples of potential problems:

    • Unlimited expenditures for lifetime hormone treatments and sometimes irreversible surgeries. (Transgender advocates demand special status for recruits seeking lifetime medical benefits despite deployability problems. They also demand coverage for veterans in an already over-loaded system, and for family dependents, including minor children);
    • Infringements on personal privacy in conditions of forced intimacy;
    • Demoralizing pressures on military commanders, doctors, and nurses to approve, participate in, or perform procedures that violate medical ethics or sincerely-held personal or religious convictions;

    • Negative impacts on morale and cohesion when side effects from transgender treatments and surgeries negatively affect combat deployability and readiness;
    • Establishment of a network of remote “Service Central Coordination Cells” (SCCCs) allowing LGBT consultants to politicize the Military Health System;
    • Erosion of trust in military leaders who endorse medical delusions; and
    • Diversion of scarce time and resources in pursuit of politically-correct social agendas that are not consistent with sound priorities in the military.

    Soldiers already had been demanding, on constitutional freedom grounds, exemptions from the military’s required social engineering training that was going along with the mandates.

    The military should not be a free sex change clinic IMO. The claim is that it is a medical condition that has to be treated - expensively.

    Here are a list of actual medical conditions that would exclude a person from the Navy (and the other services). Wanting sex change treatments, surgeries and ongoing treatments, is not a valid illness in my opinion.

    Medical Disqualifications

    Applicants with any of the following conditions are not qualified for processing to enlist. There are many other conditions that are not listed below that could disqualify you or could be waived. You'll need to talk to your local US Navy recruiter about your specific situation.

    • Absence of one kidney.
    • Acromegaly, or gigantism, enlargement of hands, feet, and face due to disease of
      pituitary gland.
    • Addiction to drugs.
    • Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), AIDS Related Complex (ARC),
      HIV antibody, or history of any of the above.
    • Alcoholism, chronic.

      religious discrimination are disqualifying. Gang related symbols/tattoos are
      disqualifying. Clarification of all questionable tattoos shall be referred to the
      appropriate Region Commander for final disposition.
    • Body mutilation, piercing, branding/intentional scarring that are excessive or
      eccentric are disqualifying. Some examples are:

        appear serpent-like;
      2. foreign objects inserted under the skin that creates a design or pattern;
      3. enlarged or stretched-out holes in the ears (other than a normal piercing) This
        typically occurs when rings of a progressively larger size are inserted in the
        ear lobe. After time the hole is expanded. Any occurrence of this type is
        considered faddish and therefore disqualifying. All questionable cases will be
        referred to the appropriate Region Commander for final disposition.
      4. Gold veneers on the teeth or any type of dental ornamentation are also
        disqualifying.
      5. branding/intentional scarring that appears on the neck, face or scalp is
        disqualifying. All brandings/scarring that are offensive in nature, excessive or

    Transgenders are nothing more than surgically enhanced transvestites. Transgender surgery is elective, cosmetic surgery. The fact that children are actually raised to believe they are transgender or should look forward to such surgery is child abuse sanctioned by medical and psychological professionals.

    Former Transgender: Trump 'Made Right Decision,' 'Military Is a Fighting Force, Not a Gender Clinic'

    By Craig Bannister | July 26, 2017 | 1:12 PM EDT

    Heyer regrets having had sex-change surgery.

    A man who lived for eight years as a transgender female says President Donald Trump did the right thing for the U.S. military, as well as for all Americans, by banning transgenders from serving in the military.

    Walt Heyer, who has transitioned back to his birth gender, writes in a commentary that his personal experience leads him to support Trump’s announcement:

    “I think he made the right decision—and as someone who lived as trans-female for several years, I should know.”

    Heyer says allowing transgenders to serve is “devastating…to the fitness, readiness, and moral of our combat read troops.”

    “The military is a Fighting Force, Not a Gender Clinic,” Heyer says, adding that concept of taxpayer-funded transition surgery for service members defies logic:

    “Paying for transition-related surgeries
    for military service members and their families
    is beyond comprehensible.”

    Finally, Heyer warns that Trump’s ban protects Americans from the activists’ next demands – that all of government and private enterprise be forced to fund sex-change surgery:

    “If the military had been forced to pay, the advocates would have used this as leverage to press every other entity—both government and commercial—to pay for sex change surgeries as well.”

    Heyer’s website, SexChangeRegret.com, “offers encouragement and hope for others who want to detransition back to their innate birth gender.”
