PTR Firearms Leaving Connecticut, Taking Their Jobs, Tax Revenues With Them

The list of firearms manufacturers fleeing hostile territory for more friendly states got a little bit longer today. Bristol-based PTR industries primarily manufactures H&K clones, including models that can no longer be imported from H&K proper.

No matter what your thoughts are on H&K, or PTR for that matter, they employ well over 100 people in Bristol, CT. They sell products that are currently in high demand (semi-automatic Modern Sporting Rifles), and they pay their taxes. That doesn’t stop the state of Connecticut from making it abundantlyclear that they’re not welcome, of course.

PTR has finally become fed up with the downward spiral of gun legislation in their home state, and has announced official plans to move to a new state,

“Along with other companies in the trade, we were deeply apprehensive at the hurried process to develop new gun laws and fearful that it would generate unintended consequences for our industry,”

It’s good to see more companies that manufacture weapons showing their support of states which respect the civil rights of their citizens.
