Recalled Colorado Anti-Gun Senators Whine About Voter Suppression

Democrats can never lose gracefully. It just does not happen and usually when they do they want to use the same tired mantra of voter suppression without any evidence. Such is the case for former Colorado Senators John Morse and Angela Giron.

Following the recall elections which booted out the two anti-Second Amendment senators, Morse was the first one to whine on MSNBC and push allegations of voter suppression.
“We had very sensible, commonsense gun legislation. You got to reload after cranking out 15 rounds. You have got to get a background check. You got to pay for the background check yourself. You want a concealed weapons permit, you got to get that training in person, not on the Internet. And we took some existing federal law and made it state law concerning domestic violence, so judges have jurisdiction over that. None of that comes anywhere close to the Second Amendment,” Morse lamented during his MSNBC airtime.
Morse didn’t take time to continue pushing the Democrat’s gun control playbook, but then alleged that the entire election was rigged, unwilling to believe that people thought his actions tyrannical.
“But if you lift the hood just a skosh, you see they only got 9,100 votes turned out,” he said. “They actually didn’t do a very good job of this at all. What they were able to do was to suppress the vote overall. And, truthfully, we weren’t able to get 9,101 votes out, which was incredibly frustrating, but they got less than 11 percent of the vote in this case, even though people are mad as the dickens. But the truth is 80 percent of the people approve with what we did. And so they got half of those 20 percent.”
“And the clerk in the area set the voting time such that it was very difficult for working people to vote, the former senator added. “They had 11 hours total to vote that wasn’t between 8:00 and 5:00 Monday through Friday. And so they had Thursday, Friday, Monday, and then Election Day on Tuesday, and Tuesday the polls were open from 7:00 to 7:00, but on those other days, they were open to 8:00 to 5:00 and they were open on Saturday from 8:00 to 5:00. So, they got those hours, and they got the hours from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. But 70 percent of Coloradans vote by mail-in ballot. And in this case, they got the mail-in ballot squashed so that nobody got to use a mail-in ballot.”
I’ve got news for Mr. Morse, it was a grassroots effort. That means citizens were ticked off and got out that vote. They didn’t sit complacent simply because some elected officials thought they were elitists and could just write laws how they wanted without consequence.
However, it wasn’t just Morse. Later in the week former Colorado Senator Angela Giron also whined to CNN. In fact, what was amazing was how the CNN host Brooke Baldwin had to tell her that her whining about alleged voter suppression was not even the point! Wow! That came from CNN.
The conversation went like this:


Giron: What this story really is about, it’s about voter suppression. When Colorado has voted by mail — 70 percent of Coloradans vote by mail — and we didn’t have access to that mail ballot, I mean, I —
Host: Forgive me, but I’m going to cut you off right there because if we talk voter suppression, I’ve read reports about a lack of popularity on your behalf, let’s just not go there. Let’s get to the meat of the story, which is this gun control stance…

9/12/13 - Colorado state Sen. Angela Giron (D-Pueblo) joined CNN's Brooke Baldwin on Thursday to discuss the Tuesday recall election which resulted in her ouster due to her support of strict new gun laws. She said that the only reason why she lost her recall challenge to a Republican plumber was a concerted GOP campaign of "voter suppression." "We know what really happened here," Giron said. "What this story really is about, it's about voter suppression."

"When Colorado has voted by mail — 70% of Coloradans vote by mail — and we didn't have access to that mail ballot," she said before Baldwin cut her off.

"Let's just not go there," Baldwin interjected. "Let's get to the meat of the story."

"That is the meat of the story," Giron insisted.

Baldwin said that Giron's campaign was backed by well-funded anti-gun groups but still lost. "What happened?" she asked.

"The people that are in support of very common sense gun legislation weren't able to get to the polls," Giron asserted. "We didn't even know what the rules of the game were. This is the United States of America. We didn't know what the rules of the game were a week out from the election; where to vote, how to vote, how to get a ballot in the mail."

She later insisted that the "results would have been different" if mail-in ballots had been allowed in this recall election.








Just like Morse, Giron is so blind to a Socialist’s Utopia that she can’t realize voters in her state are simply not going to stand for their actions against their rights as citizens. Baldwin went on to ask in a tweet that was answered by CO Peak Politics, and I think is actually what the truth is.

UM UM UM maybe it is because Nanny Bloomberg sent so much money to another State to sway their election and people didn't like that. Now to me that is voter suppression from another State...But thankfully they didn't get away with it did they. The voices of the people did get through, stop crying over spilled milk..UM UM UM, YOU LOST!!!!!!.
