It is being called the most authoritative analysis of homelessness among military veterans, and the numbers are disturbing.

The joint report, conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs along with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, says that while veterans make up only 10 percent of the population, they account for 16 percent of all homeless adults.

Veterans advocates say the reasons vary from person to person and what kinds of trauma they experienced during their time in the military.

“There's as many reasons as there are vets you know. You can categorize this guy as he has PTSD so he can't deal with people ... this guy became an alcoholic when he became a vet and he's still an alcoholic,â€

And this administration wants to add millions more uneducated and impoverished to our health care and other social programs who already are getting free health care, housing and other assistance not available to our veterans, especially those who lost their jobs because they were fired and replaced by illegal alien cheap labor. Beyond despicable when those who sacrificed much are forgotten while those who violated our laws, borders, sovereignty and use stolen and fraudulent identities to obtain public benefits are taken care of before them.
There is no freedom without the law. Remember our veterans whose sacrifices allow us to live in freedom.

Neither party has really given a damn about us Vets. We have the odd person in DC who speaks up for us and many more who fake that they care but don't.

There already have been major cuts in VA programs. Tri-Care last I heard was recieving a major cut which is healthcare for retired veterans. The homeless vet issue has been around for half a century but we've known since the early 90's at least that out of the homeless the biggest group that compromise the homeless Americans are homeless Veterans.

Not only that but retired and disabled vets are massively underpaid. By the VA's own guidelines the goal of disability pay is to pay the soldier what they were estimated to have earned after getting out and being a college graduate which was back a few years ago when a study was done $7-12k more then what they are paid then. On top of that politicians have stood in the way of allowing all veterans who served in a time of war to be able to use the VA healthcare system or qualify for Tri-Care.

But they have no problem more programs for deadbeats who never worked a day in their life, all the welfare crack addict's often minorities. Benefits for illegal aliens? Sure why not. Benefits for newly arrived legal immigrants? Sure why not.

But screw Vets who served their country, we're just used up waste as far as DC goes.

The focus is too much on illegal immigrants, and trying to figure out how to keep them in the Country is reason our Vets are homeless, hungry and cold. Vets have a (Dream) too, so when will we Americans start making some of their dreams come true, I am quite sure this is more important than wasting time on strangers who have never lift a finger to keep this Country and Americans safe as our Vets have done, and their reward is hunger and living without a home.
