I hadn't seen that article.
But I saw this kind of stuff going on--IN PERSON-- in Saudi Arabia.
There were often cases where Phillipinas women were held as slaves, raped by the men, abused by the women, their passports kept from them so they couldn't escape.
Not that a woman can escape from Saudi Arabia anyway because she can't get on a plane without her husband's permission. I have never been to UAE and I understand that UAE is a lot more pleasant for foreigners than Saudi Arabia.
