I once worked with a guy whose mother was from China, emigrated to Cuba and married a black man. They then immigrated to the US, where he was born. Ethnicity meant nothing to him, as he was an American as were his citizen parents. Not a hyphenated American, not defining himself as a heterosexual American of Chinese-Cuban descent, nor an Asian-black American.
This is just a diversion from the serious problems that need to be solved in this country, and what one does behind the bedroom door should not weigh on any of this. Nor should any consideration of ethnicity play a factor. The question is: Are you an American citizen or here legally?
We have been chopped to pieces as a nation already, and don't really need further divides into factions fighting for things that may be important to some, but not necessarily serving the good for all.
