Decision 2008: Washington State Caucus Day

    Posted: Feb 9, 2008 02:30 PM EST

    Updated: Feb 9, 2008 08:36 PM EST

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Republican Caucus Results: With 40% of the precincts reporting - Ron Paul 49%, Mike Huckabee 21%, John Mccain 16%. Democratic Caucus Results: No clear lead with only 15% precincts reporting. Statewide Caucus Results: The Associated Press is reporting that with 24% of results in, Barack Obama was winning 65% of delegates to Hillary Clinton's 33%.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington Republican and Democratic chairmen say the personal visits by the top three presidential hopefuls should send caucus attendance soaring, as partisans gather in hundreds of community meetings at 1 p.m.

Democrats will allocate all 78 of their elected national delegates through the process. Republicans will use results to allot about half of their 37 elected delegates.

The state also has a presidential primary, conducted mostly via mail, on Feb. 19. Republicans will use results to elect half of their national delegates, but Democrats view the primary as a
nonbinding popularity contest and won't use it to allocate delegates.

Why not? Ron Paul came in second to Romney in Montana, Nevada, and Maine. Now that Romney is out why shouldn't Ron Paul win these northern states? If Huckaby (don't shoot the messenger) and Paul each win 1/3rd of the remaining states, it will force a brokered convention. I don't know why everyone here doesn't want that to happen.

Sorry, Paul cannot do it by himself, he is going to need Huckabee's help in the south. Who do you hate more, McCain or Huckabee?

And by the way, that is probably why it is taking so long to post the Washington republican results when the demo's have been reported forever now.

The magots are probably strugging as hard as they can to once again, play the vote disappearance act.
