In a rare move for the No. 1 talk radio host, he begs his audience to see the movie, which he compares to “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Rush Limbaugh made a rare plea to his audience to see Dinesh D’Souza’s America, a film that opens in 1,105 theaters on Wednesday and that the nation’s top radio talk-show host likened to Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life. Watch the trailer below;

“Ladies and gentlemen, a movie made well can do an incredible job of telling a story, using images and words and music that make you think,” Limbaugh said Tuesday during a passionate segment that was not a paid endorsement. “Remember the movie It’s a Wonderful Life?

Jimmy Stewart’s guardian angel shows him what Bedford Falls would have been like had he not lived … well, the question today is … what would the world be like if there were no America?”

America is the follow-up to 2016: Obama’s America, a surprise hit documentary about President Barack Obama that made an impressive $33 million at the domestic box office in 2012. D’Souza is co-producer with Gerald Molen, the Oscar-winning producer of Schindler’s List, and co-director with John Sullivan, who also co-directed 2016. “If its predecessor is any guide, the movie will start in a few theaters, it’ll grow and then word-of-mouth is going to build it and build it. It’ll end up being huge,” Limbaugh said Tuesday.
