We cannot have these types of events in our world ...

Hope they cease & desist with these horrible headlines they keep throwing at us ...

Plus, the 911 weapons were horrible, too, and they've been using those ever since "in disguise" in the Paradise Fire, Maui Fire, (signatures are toasted cars and buildings) and so on.

    Pray for Peace Every Day

Russia downs 264 Ukrainian drones during Victory Day ceasefire, warns of retaliation

    • Russia intercepted 264 Ukrainian drones overnight despite declaring a 72-hour Victory Day ceasefire.
    • Ukraine targeted 16 Russian regions, dismissing the truce as a propaganda move while damaging strategic sites.
    • Russia threatened massive retaliation against Kyiv, warning diplomats to evacuate as escalation looms.
    • Both sides exchanged drone strikes, wounding civilians, including children, with no sign of de-escalation.
    • Diplomatic efforts collapse as war intensifies, revealing deep distrust and a cycle of relentless retaliation.

The night sky over Russia lit up with explosions as air defenses intercepted 264 Ukrainian drones in a single overnight barrage, shattering a declared ceasefire that was meant to honor Victory Day. Despite President Vladimir Putin’s call for a temporary halt to hostilities, Ukraine’s relentless drone assault targeted 16 regions, including Moscow, Crimea, and Belgorod, proving once again that diplomacy in this war is little more than a smokescreen.
Putin had announced a 72-hour ceasefire that would run from May 8 to 10, urging Ukraine to reciprocate. Instead, Kyiv responded with one of its biggest drone attacks of the war, striking deep into Russian territory. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the intercepts, stating that drones were downed over Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl, Krasnodar, Crimea, Tatarstan, and the Moscow region, as well as over the Azov and Black Seas.
    A ceasefire in name only

Russia had warned that any attempt to disrupt Victory Day celebrations, which mark Moscow’s most sacred secular holiday, would provoke a "retaliatory, massive missile strike on Kyiv." Yet Ukraine, emboldened by Western backing, pressed forward with its drone campaign anyway. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Russia’s ceasefire as a publicity stunt, stating that Moscow only wanted "permission to hold their parade" before resuming its war.
The drone swarm was not a random act. Ukraine has previously attacked Russian air bases, where nuclear-capable bombers were damaged. Moscow’s patience, it seems, has limits. The Kremlin has repeatedly signaled that further provocations will be met with overwhelming force, raising fears of an even deadlier escalation.
    The cost of defiance

While Russia’s air defenses held, the psychological toll is undeniable. Moscow’s airports delayed or canceled nearly 100 flights due to the drone threat, disrupting travel ahead of Victory Day. Emergency responders scrambled to clear debris from downed drones, a grim reminder that even a declared ceasefire offers no real peace.
Ukraine, meanwhile, suffered its own losses. Russian forces launched 102 drones at Ukrainian targets overnight, with 92 intercepted; the remaining strikes wounded civilians, including children. In Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, nine people were injured, three of them children. The cycle of retaliation continues, with no end in sight.
    A war with no off-ramp

The drone exchanges underscore a brutal reality: neither side is willing to back down in this fight. Russia’s Victory Day parade, once a display of military might, will proceed without tanks or missiles for the first time in decades in a concession to security concerns. Yet the absence of hardware won’t mask the war’s brutality.
Putin’s warning to foreign diplomats to evacuate Kyiv or face consequences suggests that Moscow is preparing for a decisive response. Zelenskyy, meanwhile, insists Ukraine will "act fairly, day by day", matching Russian strikes with its own. With U.S.-led peace efforts stalled and both sides digging in, the only certainty is more bloodshed.
    The illusion of diplomacy

The failed ceasefire exposes the hollowness of diplomatic gestures in this war. Russia’s offer of silence was met with defiance; Ukraine’s call for peace was ignored. The result? More drones, more missiles, and even more suffering.
As Victory Day dawns, we are witnessing a conflict where no one wins, but everyone pays the price. The drones may be shot down, but the war rages on. It's unrelenting, unforgiving, and far from over.

Russia’s nuclear forces kick off three-day readiness exercise, mobilizing 64,000 troops and more than 7,800 pieces of equipment

Moscow’s nuclear forces kicked off a three day readiness exercise on May 19, mobilizing over 64,000 troops and more than 7,800 pieces of equipment in a test of strength that analysts say reveals a strategic shift in the balance of terror. The drills, which run through May 21, involve units from the Strategic Missile Forces, the Pacific Fleet, and the Northern Fleet, with a focus on coordinated deployment procedures for nuclear weapons stationed in Belarus. The stated objective is to rehearse adversary deterrence measures and assess readiness levels, but the underlying message is unmistakable. Russia is signaling that its nuclear arsenal, the world’s largest, is primed for use in a conventional conflict as an intimidation tactic.Key points:

    • Russia’s three day nuclear drills involve 64,000 troops and 7,800 pieces of equipment, testing deployment procedures for weapons stationed in Belarus.
    • Russia maintains the world’s largest nuclear stockpile, estimated at 5,459 warheads, including 1,718 deployed strategic warheads.
    • Russia’s submarine fleet can deploy approximately 1,000 warheads over the U.S. within two to six minutes, while the U.S. requires at least ten minutes for a retaliatory strike.
    • The New START Treaty expired in February 2026, raising fears of a renewed arms race.
    • Russia’s active-duty military force stands at 1.5 million personnel, with a total authorized strength of 2.39 million.

    The numbers behind the threat

Public estimates of Russia’s nuclear arsenal vary slightly depending on the source, but all major reports agree on one point. Russia maintains the world’s largest nuclear stockpile. According to data from the Federation of American Scientists, Russia holds approximately 5,459 total warheads. This figure includes around 1,150 retired warheads awaiting dismantlement and a military stockpile of 4,309 warheads, which encompasses both active and reserve forces. Of these, 1,718 warheads are deployed on intercontinental missiles and bomber bases, ready for immediate use. Russia and the United States together control approximately 87 percent of the world’s total nuclear weapons inventory, but the distribution is far from equal. Russia is estimated to have about ten times more tactical or nonstrategic nuclear weapons than the United States. These smaller yield weapons, in the form of missiles, torpedoes, and artillery shells, are the ones that worry military strategists most. Moscow’s war doctrine is believed to be open to using nuclear weapons in a conventional conflict as an intimidation tactic, and use of such a weapon must be signed off personally by President Vladimir Putin.
The expiration of the New START Treaty in February 2026 has only worsened the situation. Analysts fear this loss of the last bilateral arms control framework may lead to a renewed arms race and the expansion of deployed forces by both nations. Without treaty limits, Russia can now increase its deployed warhead count without violating any international agreements. The three day drill is a demonstration of this newfound freedom, and the scale is staggering. Over 64,000 troops and more than 7,800 pieces of equipment are involved, with units from the Strategic Missile Forces, the Pacific Fleet, and the Northern Fleet practicing coordinated readiness and deployment procedures. The inclusion of Belarus in these drills is a particularly troubling signal, as it places Russian nuclear weapons closer to NATO borders.
The response time gap that breaks mutual assured destruction

To understand why this matters, we must examine Russia’s submarine capabilities. According to data from the Nuclear Threat Initiative, Russia currently operates 11 ballistic missile submarines and 17 nuclear powered attack submarines. Each of these 11 submarines can carry between 16 and 20 ballistic missiles, each equipped with multiple warheads. The Russian submarine fleet is highly advanced, featuring upgrades in technology that surpass the capabilities of current U.S. systems. This includes better hypersonic missiles and anti air defense systems. In rough terms, Russia’s nuclear submarine fleet could potentially deploy approximately 1,000 nuclear warheads over the continental United States within two to six minutes due to their proximity to both the East and West Coasts. In contrast, it would take the U.S. at least ten minutes to launch a retaliatory strike.
This disparity in response time undermines the concept of mutually assured destruction, the doctrine that has kept the nuclear peace for decades. Mutually assured destruction relies on the ability of each side to retaliate with devastating force after absorbing a first strike. But if Russia can destroy the U.S. command and control infrastructure within six minutes, and the U.S. cannot launch a counterstrike for another four minutes, the deterrent effect collapses. From a game theory perspective, this situation could incentivize a Russian nuclear submarine first strike against the United States. The math is brutal but undeniable. The U.S. can no longer credibly threaten Russia with immediate retaliation, and Russia knows it.
The financial dimension adds another layer of urgency. The United States faces an urgent concern over its debt structure, which has become insurmountable and could potentially trigger nuclear war. A nation drowning in debt cannot maintain the military spending required to close the response time gap. Submarine modernization programs, hypersonic missile research, and anti submarine warfare capabilities all require massive investment. With interest payments on the national debt consuming an ever larger share of the federal budget, the Pentagon may find itself unable to compete with a Russia that has streamlined its defense spending around nuclear weapons.
Russia’s military expansion reinforces this picture. The Russian Armed Forces currently have an authorized strength of approximately 2,391,770 personnel, including active duty servicemen and civilian support staff. Of that total, roughly 1.5 million are active duty military personnel. This represents a continued expansion from a decree in 2023 that set the number of servicemen at 1.32 million, followed by an increase to 1.5 million in late 2024, and then a further slight increase in March 2026. This sustained growth in troop numbers, combined with the nuclear drills, suggests a military that is preparing for a conflict of significant scale. The objectives of the Russian nuclear exercises are to rehearse adversary deterrence measures and to assess the readiness levels of the participating forces, but the true objective appears to be demonstrating that Russia can strike first and survive the response.
This is not cold war propaganda. This is the reality of a world where the West is pushing advanced weaponry to the border of Russia, breaching Russia's cities with drone terror through Ukraine, while bombing its way through the Middle East. Russia sees the writing on the wall and is preparing for the worst.
