San Diego Ends Fiscal Year with $43.6 Million Budget Surplus

SAN DIEGO - After years of battling deficits, the city of San Diego has ended the latest fiscal year with a 43-point-6 million-dollar surplus. City staff says San Diego brought in 111-million dollars more in revenue in the fiscal year that ended June 30th than the previous year.

The total includes a 27-million-dollar settlement with San Diego Gas and Electric involving the 2007 wildfires and 24-point-7 million-dollars in additional property tax revenue that resulted from the dissolving of redevelopment agencies.
