Washington (AP) - A law enforcement official says James Von Brunn, an elderly white supremacist, is being investigated as a potential suspect in the shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Museum.

Another law enforcement official said Von Brunn's vehicle was found near the museum and was tested for explosives.

The two officials were not authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on condition that they remain anonymous

Elderly Gunman Arrested in Shooting at Holocaust Museum

An elderly gunman opened fire with a rifle inside the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday, gravely wounding a security guard before being shot. Authorities said they were investigating a white supremacist as the possible shooter.

The assailant was in critical condition, said Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty.

D.C. Police Chief Kathy Lanier said the gunman appeared to have acted alone. He was "engaged by security guards immediately after entering the door" with a rifle, she said.

The museum normally has a heavy security presence with guards positioned both inside and outside. All visitors are required to pass through metal detectors at the entrance, and bags are screened.

But Lanier told reporters at a hastily convened news conference, "The second he stepped into the building he began firing."

Authorities said they were investigating for any possible connection with terrorism or hate crime.

The museum, located just off the National Mall near the Washington Monument, is a popular tourist attraction. It draws about 1.7 million visitors each year.

Roads surrounding the museum were closed at least temporarily and blocked off with yellow tape. Several police cars and officers on horses surrounded the area.

One law enforcement official said James Von Brunn, a white supremacist, was under investigation in the shooting, and a second official said the elderly man's car was found near the museum and tested for explosives. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss the investigation.

I'm sorry, but I'm finding this sudden spate of attacks being carried out by those exactly fitting.....to a tee.....the government's description of those posing a threat, just far too coincidental.

Does it not strike anyone else as odd that they no sooner target so called "right wing exteremists", are forced to retract their "report" in the face of public outrage and out of nowhere we have two individuals fitting their criteria committing these crimes.....murdering an abortionist and now shooting up the Holocaust Museum?

I'm not buying it.

Here is how James W. Von Brunn, the alleged gunman at the Holocaust Museum, describes himself in the "author bio" on his Web site:

James W. von Brunn holds a BachSci Journalism degree from a mid-Western university where he was president of SAE and played varsity football.

During WWII he served as PT-Boat captain, Lt. USNR, receiving a Commendation and four battle stars. For twenty years he was an advertising executive and film-producer in New York City. He is a member of Mensa, the high-IQ society.

In 1981 Von Brunn attempted to place the treasonous Federal Reserve Board of Governors under legal, non-violent, citizens arrest. He was tried in a Washington, D.C. Superior Court; convicted by a Negro jury, Jew/Negro attorneys, and sentenced to prison for eleven years by a Jew judge. A Jew/Negro/White Court of Appeals denied his appeal. The SPLC and ADL had his name on file but this did not prevent his actions yet in probability they are collecting millions as a result of this to protect Jews against Anti Semitism.

I'm not buying it.

All media has an agenda, and the news they report reflects their agendas. About fifty people are murdered every day in America, but we only hear about a fraction of them. Although a murder is nothing special in this country, this event will prove a political goldmine for someone and in all probability be used to slander unrelated entities. A connection never has to be proven, just repeated, and people will eventually begin to believe a connection actually exists.
