More warm winter: 80s today, with slight cooling ahead

Tuesday looks like another warm winter day for Orange County, but a modest cooling trend is on the way, theNational Weather Service says.

The high-pressure air over the West Coast that's been making winter feel like summer isn't going anywhere, but is expected to weaken by Thursday as low pressure moves in from the north.

The high pressure should pick itself back up Saturday, then weaken slightly again Sunday and Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday look partly cloudy as weak, low pressure to the southwest kites some clouds our way.

Inland highs should be 85 Tuesday, 78 to 83 Wednesday; on the coast it will be 74 Tuesday, 71 Wednesday.

Thursday will start off with partly cloudy skies and patchy fog before turning mostly sunny. Inland highs should dial back to 76, 68 on the coast.

Friday will be partly cloudy with patchy fog in the morning, and highs should be about the same as Thursday's.

Then Saturday and Sunday will both be partly cloudy, with highs of 78 inland Saturday and perhaps subtracting a degree for Sunday.

At the beach it will be 70 Saturday, 69 Sunday.

Monday will go from mostly sunny in the morning to partly cloudy with inland highs of 76 to 81, coastal highs to 70.

A high-surf advisory also will remain in effect until noon Wednesday, with surf as high as 10 feet in Huntington Beach.
