I don't understand why they're locking their bathrooms to begin with. They didn't used to and they don't everywhere so it's pretty stupid for a place that sells drinks to lock their bathrooms.

Like Boomslang, the guy in the video is looking for trouble and he found it. I don't know the neighborhood or the history around that restaurant, but the white guy he ambushed, coming out of the restroom, went to order something. Maybe he is a regular customer.

Boomslang wants us all to accept everybody equally without regard to the trouble they might cause, but prejudice is a natural self protection mechanism. Our society is getting better, but forced equality will foment more segregation.

Boomslang's own testimonial has many facts missing, like where it occured. He admits he went looking for what he found.

In some places you have to pay to use a restroom. For convenience some businesses offer restricted use to customers. If they leave it open to anybody, they would need a full-time maintenance crew to clean up after some of the users.

It didn't use to be that way. You used to be able to drive into a gas station and air up your tires. But now, many charge you for the air. There used to be telephone booths all over the place. They were often vandalized and used as a restroom. Times have changed because society has changed, And I don't think it is for the better.

I have personally witnessed Starbucks employees call the cops on a man that literally did nothing. He walked past me to use the bathroom. He came out and studied the menu and then sat down.
They asked him to leave and he gave them some back talk and walked out.
The man was a block away when the cops surrounded him and patted him down and questioned him.

I don't need to tell you what race he is. That's kind of self evident.

That is awful. There is absolutely no excuse for any of this. No restaurant should lock their bathroom doors, harass their customers or call the cops when they have left the building. It's just terrible what's going on. There is something terribly wrong going on in Starbucks, no way do their shareholders support this. I'm not even sure their corporate management supports this, it has something to do with their regional managers or franchises or however they're running their stores. It could be the employees they hire. It just makes no sense at all what they're doing.

There is absolutely something going on. Starbucks has been in business for 47 years, since 1971. They've been a national organization since the 80's, 40 years, all over the country. They didn't lock their bathroom doors, you didn't need "codes" to get in, they've hired all races, blacks included, they've served everyone who could afford the drinks, pastries and sandwiches, in every major metropolitan area of our country for decades and 20 years ago spread to smaller cities. Starbucks focused on inner city stores, they were one of the first to establish their nice stores in redevelopment areas. None of this makes any sense.

Are they hiring foreign workers as store managers or regional managers who are racist? Is that it? Is that what is happening?

Starbucks is not racist, but what is going on is making them look that way.

Boomslang, you need to get with your contacts in the black community and ask them to investigate who these managers are that are doing this and find out if they're visa workers? I think that's going to be the source of the problem. They're probably the ones who wanted to lock the bathroom doors to begin with. There are bad apples who have wormed their way into Starbucks, at this store manager level ... maybe the regional manager level, with responsibility for a lot of stores. I just don't know, but I'll tell you this, if I have to ask for a "code" to use a bathroom at Starbucks, it will be the last time I go to a Starbucks.

But in fairness, people try not to use a bathroom at a store you aren't spending money in. It's just good manners.

If you want to open your own Starbucks coffee, bad news. Starbucks is not a franchise, so no hope for your own coffee shop. But there is still possibility for Licensed shop, which means your store is owned by Starbucks.

Starbucks Franchise Costs for opening one Starbucks licensed store is roughly $315,000.

    How to open Starbucks Franchise

Unless it is very popular, all All Starbucks stores are under the direct management of Starbucks Coffee. There are currently no plans to franchise.

    Q: Does Starbucks Franchise?
A: No, Starbucks does not franchise to individuals. However, in situations in which a master concessionaire or other company controls or can provide improved access to desirable retail space (such as an airport), the Company may consider licensing its operations to such a company.

Starbucks has 10,000 stores worldwide, some 4,400 of them are licensed shops. It’s nearly impossible to open Starbucks store as franchise in US or Canada, but in other countries, there is always a possibility.

Franchising is a way to help stores to grow, but the coffee retailer prefers licensing to keep more control over stores and product quality. Licensees don’t own stores, as franchisees do; they basically rent the Starbucks brand by paying a licensing fee.

Maybe these are "Licensed Shop" Starbuck's locations. What tipped me off on that was this last video with the Asian "store manager", she calls herself the "owner", then backs up when the black guy says "you own the store", and then she says she Store Manager, maybe these "store managers" are the licensees who paid the $315,000 licensing fee to rent the name in a retail shopping center they're also involved with. Dunno, just a thought from the statements she made about being "owner" and then "store manager".

Judy, you're 100% right as usual.

From what we know, and I admit, we don't know the whole story,
Fox News jumps in and you can see the moment that the "built in security" actually happens! This is par for course from Fox News but nonetheless it still needs attention.
I have simply stopped going to Starbucks.
    LOL
    Unbelievable!
