Democratic Convention: Let the Immorality Games Begin

It was inevitable that a political party that has chosen abortion and gay “marriage” as two of its biggest issues would be wallowing in the gutter at its national convention.
The three-day Democratic Party main event hadn’t even opened yet when a couple of delegates were already being hustled out for drunkenness.
One of the most popular items being passed out to conventioneers was buttons reading “Sluts Vote.” That goes back to the episode earlier this year when the Democrats sneaked an apparently highly libidinous college student into what was supposed to be a hearing on the religious freedom implications of the Obamacare mandate to churches.
Sandra Fluke became an instant media and bathroom-wall celebrity when she whined that her contraceptive bill was driving her to bankruptcy. Rush Limbaugh lit the fuse on the Democrats’ trap when he referred to Fluke on air as a “slut”. It became the outrage of the news cycle, despite “slut” being a rather kind word for what Ms. Fluke described as her sinful lifestyle, and despite the many more illustrative words liberals often have for women in Hollywood movies, television, rap albums and so forth.
So naturally, Democrats are showing their respect for women with big ol’ buttons for the ladies. They go very well with Code Pinko’s female private parts costumes, no doubt.
To further demonstrate their respect for women — and the country — there will also be a Planned Parenthood-sponsored “Sex, Politics and Cocktails” party at the Privilege Day Club and Night Club on Tuesday night.

I’m sure free condoms will be handed out with the cocktail weenies, but it sounds like Planned Parenthood is trying to drum up some business.
How out of touch does a political party have to be to advertise what sounds like an orgy while claiming its opponents are engaged in a “war on women”? Not only that, but it’s an exclusive orgy, held at an overpriced club in the middle of a nonstop recession that shows every sign of getting worse.
Of course one clear sign that there’s something seriously wrong at the DNC should have been the TSA gropings at the security checkpoints.
The TSA is apparently no longer just about airports. Now they’re working in cooperation with the Secret Service to feel up people at public venues.
Not only is this a disturbing vision of the Gestapo future the Democrats have planned for us all, but it’s like the TSA is guarding the doors to some sleazy frat party — “you gotta give some to get some, hon.”
Is this really the party that nearly half of American voters think can lead this country?

Forward Back Across the Bridge to the 21st Century

Today, in Charlotte, NC, the Democrats will convene their convention to re-nominate Barack Obama as President of the United States. There are two ironies they will do their best to ignore. First, four years after a concerted effort to paint Bill Clinton as a racist, Barack Obama depends on Bill Clinton’s presence and blessings to secure his re-election. Second, and most importantly, after a several month effort to claim the Republicans want to go backwards, the Democrats will rely on a bunch of former Governors and a President elected two decades ago promising a bridge to the 21st century to make a case for their slogan “Forward”.
    Consider that for a minute.
Last week in Tampa, FL, the Republicans put on stage two current and recently elected hispanic governors, a recently elected hispanic senator, a soon to be elected hispanic senator, a soon to be elected black congresswoman, a recently elected Indian governor (a second, Bobby Jindal, would have been there too but for Hurricane Isaac), a bunch of other freshly elected Republicans, and a forty-something Vice Presidential nominee. This is the current Republican bench. The Democrats are desperate to paint them and their standard bearer, Mitt Romney, as relics wanting to go back to the 1950′s. In fact, that is specifically the era the Obama campaign website lists.
According to Democrats I’ve talked to, the 1950′s is explicitly stated because black voters understand that to be before the civil rights era and women understand that to be before Roe v. Wade. Those spooky troglodyte Republicans want to reverse the clock on all the civil rights gains.
They think this is a winning strategy.
Now consider the optics facing the Democrats in Charlotte, NC. They’ve had to make last minute additions to their roster of speakers, including making sure they have a hispanic mayor to compete with hispanic Republican governors and senators. They will also hand their keynote speech over to a man elected two decades ago and out of office for more than a decade to make the case that Barack Obama is the path forward and Mitt Romney is the path backwards.
The visual of this is stunning. A rising Republican star, Marco Rubio, introduced Mitt Romney and a rising Republican star, Chris Christie, gave the GOP’s keynote. The Democrats? Well, they’ll have Clinton, Sandra Fluke, and a Kennedy.
Bill Clinton promised a Bridge to the 21st Century when he campaigned in 1992. Now more than a decade across that bridge, Barack Obama is dependent on a man his campaign painted as racist to claim that Barack Obama will go forward, back into the twentieth century, and start using Bill Clinton’s economic policies he thus far hasn’t used. Or something like that. Compounding all these back to the future ironies is they’ll be petting the economic philosophy of John Maynard Keynes who’s been dead since 1946.
This is not a winning message. And the response from the GOP should be short, sweet, and to the point when the Democrats claim they want Bill Clinton’s tax rates and balanced budget.
Okay, we’ll give you Bill Clinton’s tax rates. But you give us his spending rates. Let’s make that compromise and watch the Democrats nuance themselves right onto the Bridge to Nowhere.

Obama’s Attempt to Ignore the Last 4 Years Includes Recycling 2008 Words, Phrases, and Promises

Meet the New Candidate, Same as the Old Candidate

    By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary) | September 3rd at 03:10 PM | 12

The lengths to which the Obama campaign is going to pretend that the last four years simply didn’t happen (or, in the words of Ezra Klein’s headline writer, to act as though Mitt “Romney’s policies are the incumbent,” rather than the sitting President of the United States) have been laughable in their extremity. Part of the effort to recreate 2008 in the current election cycle, as a new ad from the RNC shows, is to simply recycle the same words, phrases, and promises then-candidate Obama made four years ago – before his Carteresque term as President.

    via SunshineStateSarah
Obama’s copying from himself four years ago isn’t just an effort to recapture the “magic” of 2008, when his three-word catch-phrases (“Hope and Change”), vapid slogans (“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”), and ridiculously hyperbolic self-aggrandizement (“This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal”) captured the imagination of a majority of American voters and propelled the freshman Senator from Illinois into the White House. The repetition also stems from a serious problem the Obama campadministration* is facing as a result of its disastrous handling of an already-fragile domestic economy. Obama’s staffers and advisers have been all over the map when faced with the question of whether or not Americans are better off now than they were four years ago, with answers ranging from “No” to “Maybe” to “Absolutely!” to “lalalala not answering not answering.”
Most recently, Vice President Joe Bidenopoulos declared to a union crowd, “Folks, let me make something clear, say it to the press: America is better off today than they left us when they left.” Of course, he followed that up by saying, “And if it weren’t so hot – if it weren’t so hot, I’d go into detail why.” Convincing explanation there, Joe.

    video at link below

Given the terrible economy and the campadministration’s own messaging issues about it, is there any question why Obama would rather recycle 2008′s promises, invoke former President Bush a few more times, and try to convince America that the last four years simply didn’t happen?

    * Let’s be honest: the Obama campaign is the Obama administration is the Obama campaign is the Obama administration is the Obama campaign is the Obama administration is the Obama campaign is the Obama administration…well, you get the gist.
