STUDENT LOAN JUSTICE - RESTORING CONSUMER PROTECTIONS

(THIS LETTER IS AN E-MAIL FROM STUDENT LOAN JUSTICE.ORG.)

    Hey Everyone,

Welcome to the new members. This will be a brief update.

    1. StudentLoanJustice.Org is "going mobile". We now have a website specifically meant for mobile users, Thanks to Brian McLane of New York for volunteering his effort, and bandwidth for this. Brian is the founder of iProgram, a small text marketing company in New York City specializing in Mobile Video. He is trying to keep the wolves at bay, and he has already rehabbed his loan once. To go there, just text "RJB SLJ " to: 83960 The site is supported by Paypal, so your donations to this platform are very helpful. Spreading the word to your friends is also really useful.

    2. Congress is reauthorizing the Higher Education Act as we speak. Unfortunately, this legislation does nothing to restore standard consumer protections to student loans. We obviously have a ways to go to convince Congress to listen to the borrowers instead of the banks, universities, and their lobbyists on this matter.

I hope to have a far more interesting update next time.

    Best Regards, and keep fighting.
    Alan

I have questions about my student loan interest rate?

I have been paying off a student loan for years...I am very curious about the fairness of the loan. I've inquired about it but have not been satisfied with the information I was given....it feels like the ole run around.

THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION - GOVERNMENT AGENCY IS THE ONE DOING WHAT THEY WANT TO - TO STUDENT LOANS.

I THINK THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ARE OUTSOURCING TO INDIA; AND THEY ARE AND HAVE IGNORED DISCHARGING LOANS ON PURPOSE.

THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION AND POSSIBLE A FIRST CLASS SUIT.

Well people, I am a college student. I received a Pell grant two years ago for college, but withdrew from college and had to repay a balance, which I did. Now, I applied this year, and was denied... why? I didn't even make 12k last year and I'm a fully independent young adult. What else can I be eligible for? My father didn't even make 27k, what is wrong with our government?
