“The Tea Party Express national bus tour will host a series of tea party rallies all across the nation from coast-to-coast and border-to-border. The effort will begin in San Diego, California on October 25th and travel eastward, building momentum as the tour reaches its final destination: a giant rally in Orlando, Florida on November 12th.

The tour comes exactly one-year before the November 2010 elections – and this will serve as a “Countdown to Judgment Dayâ€

Florida in November, sounds like a nice place to be.

I just got back from the one at Griffith Park in Los Angeles.

There were about 1,500 plus people there and I have a boatload of photo's that I will post in a couple of hours. I will add the link once I have them all uploaded.

It was great and there were about 40 to 50 Obama people in counter protest but our crowd easily out numbered them and once the bus arrived with speakers and talent we just ignored them, which made some of them start to leave.

It was obvious that all of the energy and passion was on our side!

They said they had a few thousand show up in San Diego - so I will let you know of any links of photos from that crowd.

Tea Party Express kicks off nationwide rallies in San Diego

A multi-city protest over the direction of the national government kicked off in San Diego Sunday, with about 1,000 people demonstrating against taxation, spending and a perceived takeover of private enterprise.
The Tea Party Express rallies are sponsored by longtime Republican party activists and other conservatives. They are meant to encourage Americans to voice their opinions and let them know their voices can make a difference, said Deborah Johns, the vice-chairwoman of the national tour, which is scheduled to conclude Nov. 12 in Orlando.

"They can make a difference," Johns said. "In 2010, the people will hand them a pink slip if Congress doesn't get the out-of-control spending under control."

Johns claimed about 2,500 people attended the first rally, based on text messages those in the crowd were asked to send. The San Diego Union-Tribune estimated about 1,000 people were there.

The political elite in Washington, D.C., has tried to minimize and belittle those who attend tea parties, but those who show up are everyday Americans, said Johns, a resident of Granite Bay, east of Sacramento.

"In a week's time, I've had 10,000 e-mails to answer," Johns said. "People want to get involved."

Americans are being galvanized in opposition to Obama administration policies, including health care reform, bailouts and intrusiveness into private businesses, she said.

"Obama -- the Little Red Riding Hood turned out to be the Big Bad Wolf," Johns said. "His change is not what people want."

The Tea Party Express is sponsored by the "Our Country Deserves Better" political action committee, which is run by former state Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian, a longtime local conservative activist and Republican.

Organizers are using some Obama strategy, to plug into social media, with pages on Facebook, Twitter and a blog, along with a Web site.

Tea Party Express Blasts off from San Diego!
Sunday, October 25th, 2009

With the historic carrier U.S.S. Midway as our backdrop, the Radio Mayor of Southern California, Roger Hedgecock, headlined a cheering celebration of America to kick off the Tea Party Express II, Countdown to Judgment Day tour.

Somewhere around 2,000 people greeted our arrival at our Tuna Harbor venue. Hundreds more cheered, honked and thumbs-upped our motorcade through the city. Leading us was a contingent of two-dozen Patriot Riders on Hogs decked out in flags.

A small group of pro-Obamacare demonstrators showed up but wound up actually joining Lloyd’s chorus line for one of his songs!

Next stop….. Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
