Treasury Memo: Cap and Trade Would Devastate U.S. Industrial Base, Trigger Energy Rationing

President Obama's cap-and-trade plan could deliver several blows to the U.S. economy, according to a Treasury Department memo that one observer described as "damning."

The country could lose 1 percent of its gross domestic product, face accelerated outsourcing of manufacturing jobs, and experience energy rationing if cap and trade became law, according to the memo, which the Competitive Enterprise Institute obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

“The memo was damning particularly . . . by pointing out what opponents of cap and trade have long said is the point of cap and trade, and has been proven by Europe’s experience,â€

ABSOLUTELY NO WAY..

We already shell out mountains of money in foreign aid to help many nations. Do not saddle us with more taxes meant to spread the wealth. We are only able to help all these other nations because we use energy anyways. If you are going to tax our energy and pay them off, then ALL but emergency foreign aid should be discontinued. Nice hefty tax decrease in another area to offset this garbage tax....We arent paying both foreign aid packages...

Ah but the destruction of the American middle class is not yet complete. As bad as we have it now we are still way ahead of most nations of the world and the NWO demands that all nations become equal. Well at least the middle classes of those nations.
